RIP Gene Hackman

Just saw the news that Gene Hackman, his wife and their dog has been found dead. No cause of death given at this stage but carbon monoxide poisoning seems likely. Damn. Fucking Lex Luthor. RIP.

eek Wow, that's tragic. May they rest in peace.

I saw a more recent report that a carbon monoxide leak was ruled out by gas authorities, etc.

It'd be horrible if they both fell and just died where they laid. They think Hackman had fallen where he was found. The wife was in the bathroom (as well as the dog). So - still peculiar.

Two other dogs were found alive on the property. Someone said it was a welfare check that found them, but CNN says it was maintenance or a ground crew that found them. The front door was unlocked, but no theft or forced entry was suspected.

I'm gonna just wait to see how all the deets come out. As with any new investigation, there are more rumors than facts early on.

I hope they didn't suffer.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

It sounds like they'd been dead for a while. He was 95. I know he has children. I don't understand how the bodies weren't discovered earlier. I don't go 2 days without speaking to my dad and he's only in his 50s. I couldn't imagine him being in his 90s and me just not checking in every now and then to make sure he was ok.

Not that I'm blaming his children for anything. More like just pointing out that it serves as a good reminder to all of us to check in with our older relatives every now and then just to see how they're doing.

I've never seen it. But you can't really go wrong with Mamet.
