Cinema and the City (NYC)

Coming of age in NYC I got to see many films and television shows being made, with the first being in 1973 when the Al Pacino film Serpico shot in the old 30th precinct building on 152nd and Amsterdam Avenue. In my NYC life a few other cool flicks I caught in the process were Eyes of Laura Mars and Bringing Out the Dead, but I was also an extra in a Linda Blair horror movie. In "Cinema and the City," a new essay at Memoir Land, I wrote about those movies as well as a few others.

I hope to visit New York City next year because this feels like life there.

I was impressed with the movie Serpico, Eyes of Laura Mars is one of my favorites, despite being old it still packs a lot of meaning and vintage footage. Thanks for sharing!
