Hairspray director John Waters is about to start production on his first feature film for 20 years, with Aubrey Plaza as the lead, it has been reported.

According to World of Reel, Emily the Criminal and The White Lotus star Plaza is confirmed for Liarmouth, Waters’ adaptation of his own 2022 novel. Shooting is set to begin later this year in Baltimore, Maryland, Waters’ home city, and perennial location for his films.

I think A Dirty Shame is such a great movie, non-stop awkward LOLs and great tunes. Tracey Ullman was phenomenal as usual so this should be gooooood, Aubrey Plaza is an interesting choice for the lead.

Love the film title, love John Waters and it's a great time to be alive when he's creating another movie.
