Yeah it looks really good. I was expecting 2025 anyway so I'm not too disappointed about that. It will give me time to play Vice City and San Andreas in the meantime so at least there's that.

Maybe by 2025 I'll be able to upgrade to a PS5.

Trailer looks awesome and it's one of the few games I play. By "play" I mean I just do whatever I want and don't do the missions.

More positive than negative. I found it really uncomfortable on my nose. I guess I have a smaller than average sized head so the headset kind of rests on my nose and really hurts after a while. But I got this head strap from Amazon that clips on to the headset and rests on the top of your head to take the pressure off the nose. It's a necessity, to be honest. But aside from that one comfort issue it's been great. It would be even better for someone who loves horror games but I'm not one of those people. There are a lot of very highly rated horror games out for it that I'm just not brave enough to play.

I really want to play that Assassin's Creed VR game but it's only available on the Quest. My cousin James has one and he said he'll bring it around when he visits over the Christmas so I'll get to try it out then and tease myself with yet more things I can't afford lol

I probably said it in the past I'd love one. But its pricey. I love horror games, right up my alley.

I've had my PS5 13 months now. About a month or 2 ago I finally decided to hook it up to the 4ktv in the living room. My good why did I wait so long 😅 it looks great. I think the last few big games I've gotten in the last year or so is Resident Evil 4 (Remake) & Dead Space.

I loved resident evil 4. Theres is a DLC which I've yet to play.
Dead space looks great too, but I never got too far. I will revisit it in the future

Added*
After finishing RE4 I went back to RE7. I literally bought the game when it came out years ago, finally got around to playing and finishing it 😅

The Resident Evil 4 remake just got an update which allows you to play the entire game in VR on PSVR2. Like I said, I'm just not brave enough for that kind of thing. But judging from reviews it seems like the VR mode is the absolute best way to play it. Plus, the update is free so even though the headset itself is expensive you get access to one of its best games for no extra cost. And I think Resident Evil Village has a free VR mode too. So there's two horror games right there for you to give yourself nightmares with lol

My favourite VR game so far is probably Star Wars Tales From The Galaxy's Edge. It's kind of like being in a Star Wars mini-series. The game is even split into separate episodes. It's an original story set in the Star Wars universe with some cameos from the movies and even the Clone Wars cartoon. My Star Wars knowledge isn't great but I think it's set around the same time as the sequel trilogy. Although there are a couple of hidden episodes where you break away from the main plot and assume control of other characters from different times periods. Even though I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan in the world I still get kind of giddy at being in that world and interacting with C-3PO and co. So even if you're not a Star Wars fan I'd still recommend that game if you ever get a PSVR2

To be honest, Resident Evil 4 & Village are not that scary. The occasional jump scare, but not many. You see everything coming. They are more action and puzzle solving (nothing too hard) Lots of shooting repeatative monsters, creatures with the big boss battles. You die and repeat.
It gets easier as you build up your character, guns. I loved RE4!

Warning..
Unlocking unlimited ammo makes you OP.
You can beat the game in no time

I've seen the trailers for them Star wars games 🤩 Would be a must have for me

I'd be doing everything in my power to unlock unlimited ammo then lol

There are a few other VR games I've played that I would recommend. There's this game called Hubris which is kind of like a sci-fi action kind of thing. It looks incredible and there's this part where you're riding a hover-bike and dodging lasers and all sorts of things. Really fun. Then there's Horizon Call Of The Mountain. It's like a spin off of the other Horizon games on PS4 but instead of a big open world to explore you're more or less confined to climbing a huge mountain and taking out these massive robot dinosaurs along the way. Again, really fun but my arms were in bits every time I played it. Who would have thought that pretending to climb a mountain would be so tiring?

On the more relaxing side of things, I've played a game called Moss and its sequel, imaginatively called Moss 2. They're really nice games where you team up with a little mouse and go on an adventure to do something or other. I can't remember the exact plot details but it was a fun little game and I fell in love with that mouse.

I haven't played it much lately what with my new job and stuff but I bought a new game called Journey To Foundation which looks interesting. It's based on the Isaac Asimov Foundation books. So I hope to play a bit of that when I'm off over the Christmas.

Some are saying that 2025 could be fisical year...for them starts April 2024... So could be Oct 2024. but then again I rather them not rush it and release it when it is ready. And No PC date.

People who never played these games are sure to get all twisted...as we have seen!

I saw one person just lie that SA had graphic sex!

some say they are too PRO-police some too Anti! Some are mad that the lead is a woman....

I say play it or don't....

I don't view them as racist. Is the language harsh? Are there stereotypes? Yes, but GTA is a satire of American society. Not offended at all.

I'm a huge fan of the series....still playing the old games on my PS3 & PS2 (San Andreas is my favorite, one of the greatest games ever made). After seeing the GTA VI trailer, I'll have to invest in a PS5.

That seems to be the case. The main criticism is from people who have never played it or any other game for that matter. There's nothing in GTA that you wouldn't find in a dozen other games.

The racism accusation really confuses me. In GTA V there are three main characters. Two white guys and a black guy. And out of the three of them it's the black guy who is portrayed as the normal, level headed one. We kind of experience the story through his eyes. So I really don't get how that could be considered racist.

RE Village:
There is this "Paid" DLC, Winters Expantion.
It adds new mods, 3rd person view, new character mission, etc
I think it was on sale 9.99.
I bought it, started my game over from scratch. And holly crap, I had unlimited ammo. I had no clue it was included. I believe I went back to options to disable it. Because I wanted a challenge. But unlimited ammo so fun.

RE4 :
Forgive me if I'm wrong., it's been a while.

There are these mercenaries missions. Shoot as many creatures before time runs out. Hard at first, eventually you get the hang of it. Get like a S+ grade in all 4 stages. It unlocks the Handcannon (single shot OP gun). Now there are "paid" upgrade tickets you can buy. It will upgrade that gun to unlimited ammo. I also believe you can earn a free upgrade ticket.

As I recall, I unlocked the gun before I even started the game. Unlimited ammo or not, its helpful to have.

If you beat the game on a certain difficulty level or within a time you can unlock a tommy gun. You can use an upgrade ticket on that for unlimited ammo

Usually once I beat a game im done. but after I beat it once I wanted to speed run it with the hand cannon to unlock the tommy gun. That was a breeze. Them I wanted to speed run with the tommygun. But 2 runs was enough lol

That's some extremely useful information. Thanks for that. I think Resident Evil 4 would be the main one I'd be interested in. I've been told that it's not as much of a horror game as others in the series plus I'm on the lookout for another VR game so I may check that out.

I'm kind of the same. Once I finish a game that's it. I trade it in for money off another one. Sometimes though, I know I'll want to play it again at some point so it goes into my permanent collection on the shelf. Like Kingdom Hearts. I was such a fiend for Kingdom Hearts when I was small. So I still have my original PS2 and Game Boy Advance copies.

@RE Village: unlimited ammo
I looked into it, I believe it came with the Extra Content Shop All Access Voucher DLC 4.99. I got it on sale for 1.99

*I dont think it was part of the winters expansion.

I enjoyed #4 over Village.
I dont think the games are scary. But I imagine if you played in vr it could be because of the point of view.

When I got my ps4 I bought phisical copies of games. I paid $50/60 for a game. A year later it dropped to $20. Then I had a pile of games that were outdated or devalued due to the special editions or the dirt cheap prices in the game store. Now I mainly buy digital games. No more switching games. I'm fine with it.

Call me late or cheap lol
I will wait for the big game to drop price. Wait a year and save 60/80%. Now a few games I can not wait for.
Besides that, I dont get to play much. And when I do get tired quickly. So no rush

Games i'm waiting for :
God of War: ragnarok
Last of Us 1 (remake)
Mortal kombat 1

I don't really have much time to play all the new games I want nor do I have the money to buy all the ones I want. So I typically buy one new game and when I finish it I trade it in against another new one. But I'll have to rethink that strategy because GameStop have pulled out of Ireland entirely so there aren't really any places left who do trade ins. So I'll probably be waiting for steep discounts from now on.

As with all things, I prefer to buy physical over digital but if the digital version is far cheaper then I'll go for that. And with GameStop gone it's harder and harder to even find what I'm looking for. Smyths is pretty much the only store left that sells games but that's predominantly a toy store so they're game selection isn't great. They focus mainly on the big hits so they don't stock a lot of lesser known games or VR games.

I use to live a 7 minute walk from a Mom & Pop used game store. I'd buy and trade em back in, but they closed during the pandemic, then shortly re opened only to close back down.

Yeah I cant really afford new games, prices are outrageous. My PS5 wishlist has like 30+ games. Some I know I'll never buy. I'm a window shopper

I still have games I've yet to play or finish.

Well now Christmas has come and gone I find myself with a bit of a gaming backlog of my own. Between the recent sales on the PlayStation store and gifts from relatives, I've now officially got more games than I have the time for. And, like the fool that I am, I've completely abandoned my PS5/PSVR2 in favour of my Quest 3. Specifically that Assassin's Creed game I was looking for. It's every bit as great as I hoped it would be. This is going to make me sound like a bloodthirsty maniac but the feeling of sneaking up behind someone in VR and driving a wrist-mounted blade into their spine just cannot be topped. Jumping off 100 foot high buildings in VR is just madness though. Absolutely terrifying experience. But in all the best ways.

Two things to note though. First, I've almost fallen right on my face on numerous occasions. For some reason, when I'm playing Assassin's Creed VR, I frequently lose my balance especially when I'm climbing up the side of a building. It's like my brain is having trouble distinguishing what is real. Second thing to note, if you do get a VR headset, be very careful when swinging an imaginary sword. I smacked my cousin's husband in the back of the head by mistake. And I hit him hard. Like, HARD. So just be careful.

You said you liked horror games so I was wondering if you have heard of Alan Wake? There's a remaster of the first game and a sequel has just come out. I kind of want to check them out because they are part of a shared universe with another game I enjoyed called Control and I know they're always featured on "Best games of the year" lists.

Funny you mentioned Alan Wake Remasterd. I've had my eyes on that game for a while. After waiting it out, it was offered as a free download (playstation plus) I only got an hour into it before I gave up lol I wasn't sure what I was doing, how to fight or beat some enemies. And I moved on. Honestly I didnt give it a chance. But I've heard great stuff on Part 2. It looks great! Just by the looks, I want it. Maybe I will go back and retry part 1.

Reminds me..
A some years ago I bought "A Plague Tail: innocence". Reviews online were positive. I thought it was good, though I never finished it. I've had my eyes on part 2: Requiem. I seen it will be offered free this month (PS Plus) Thank god I didnt pay for it

Also have my eyes on."Alone in The Dark"

My cousin thinks I'm not great at games so he told me to make sure I play Alan Wake Remastered on the Easy Difficulty. Finishing it on Easy gets you the trophy for completing it on Normal. Finishing it on Normal gives you the trophy for finishing it on Hard. They messed up the difficulty names in the settings and once you start you can't change the difficulty mid-game. So if you want the default experience, play it on Easy.

A Plague Tale is the one with loads of rats right? The trailer for that game creeps me out. I have a crippling fear of rats and mice and hamsters and other little furry creatures.

Wow, you really are all in on horror games aren't you lol . Have you ever heard of a game called Deadly Premonition?

No to "Deadly Premonition" I had to google that. Sounds Interesting

@ Allan Wake
That's great advice. I usually avoid easy mode. I'll go try it on easy. Might help me decide on buying #2

Plagues Tale:
Yes! rats! Just use your torch to keep them away lol
It's an adventure, stealth, fighting game.

List of my horror games. I have not beat or even played them all.
Some were cheap impulse buys. 😇

Alan Wake

I went back finished chapter 1.
It all came back why I care for it. It's very story driven. There is a lot of story narration. Game play and cut sceens abruptly intercut. The game plays is a bit clunky, use flashlight to weaken enemies, dodge and shoot gets a little confusing. The hints say sometimes it better to run than fight. But when I ran I got beat down from behind. At the end of chapter one it took a minute to realize it was a boss battle. I played on easy, so supply items were plenty. I'm not feeling the game. I will give it a shot though. It might get better

I wont let it influence me looking in to Part 2 lol

Added
Started chapter 2. Combat got easier after I figured out how to use the flashlight. Now I'm stuck on a glitch, can not progress. Found out it's well known on YouTube. Either restart the level or try a workaround, no luck yet

Amnesia collection
Blair Witch
Dead Space
Dont knock Twice
Fatal frame
Here They Lie
Outlast (Collection)
Resident evil series
Evil Withn (1, 2)
Dark picture anthology House of Ash - Little Hope - Man of Medan
The last of us (1, 2)
Callisto Protocol

I don't know if you know the show Twin Peaks, but Deadly Premonition is basically an adaptation of it. The story is virtually identical. The game even has special features on the menu where you can see the real world locations that the team used as reference for the in-game environments and they're all literally the exact same locations from where Twin Peaks was filmed.

I wont let it influence me looking in to Part 2

Added
Started chapter 2. Combat got easier after I figured out how to use the flashlight. Now I'm stuck on a glitch, can not progress. Found out it's well known on YouTube. Either restart the level or try a workaround, no luck yet

I actually started Alan Wake myself lol . I'm loving the story so far but I feel like the actual game is getting in the way of my enjoyment of it. I haven't had any difficulties so far and I haven't been killed yet by anything. I just find it to be a bit awkward. I'm really enjoying the story though so I'll persevere and see where it goes

I vaguely remember Twin Peaks TV show.

I'm about half way on level 3 I keep dying even though it's on easy lol as long as the game goes smoothly I'll try and finish it. I'll have more time to play on my days off.

One thing I find annoying is when Alen is narrating and other conversations, radio, tv are playing at the same time. Or when you play the radio the it goes on for 3 to 4 minutes, same for the tv shows. Its slowing me down

I'm interested in part 2. But I'll wait for a major price drop. Maybe Christmas lol

I don't think this game is for me. Which is a shame because I'm really digging the story. I'm a little further on than you are so I'll avoid saying anything that could be considered a spoiler. I've died a few times but mostly due to my own stupidity like trying to take on the shadow monsters head on rather than scurrying to a light source. But overall, I'm not finding it too difficult. It's just so awkward. I might just watch the rest of the game's cutscenes on YouTube or something just to get me to Alan Wake 2 that bit faster.

And I've been told to play Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Quantum Break and Control before starting Alan Wake 2. It's like a shared universe kind of thing and even though those games are not necessary to understand the plot of Alan Wake 2 they apparently give more context and have a few characters crossing over between games. I don't know if I'll have time for all that though. I have a job, a child, a social life (alright, not much of a social life) and most importantly, a new Final Fantasy game out next month lol .
