Is Pac-Man a guy fighting drugs?
The ghosts are his demons, and each one represents a past trauma.
He’s in a maze of drugs with no real out. He's using daily to deal.
Sometimes he binges and the ghosts seem to run away from him, but they return pursuit quickly.
On occasion, he'll remember to eat, and it’s usually just a piece of fruit or a pretzel.
The more he does, the faster he races toward his death.
He once found a girl, but she was just as bad as him. It was worse because she was more popular with his friends. They had a boy but he was born addicted, too, and no one ever understood him.
It could also be a larger statement on how society will pay to watch a train wreck happen and not stop it.
