where would you want to live

besides from where you are living now, which country or
city would you most like to live in, and why?

I'd like to live in London cuz the people are great, the
atmosphere is great, the buildings, the history, the shops,
the clubs [so who cares if the food tastes like shit].

Some place green, moderate, and beautiful -- with not too many people, but enough that I can interact with some and hide among most. Also, an ocean shore would be nice, but not necessary. Where I'm at now is nothing like that, but I have a purpose here for now. The day will come.

Wherever the movie "A River Runs Through It" was filmed...

The scenes when Brad Pitt was Fly Fishing, were absolutely beautiful... I'd like 2 b in a country setting like that (with a helicopter pad in the distance, Lord knows I needs my city life 2!)

Oh well, maybe when I win the Lotto! lol

Paisley park, o'course!

failing that...sydney. It may just be the image, but it seems to have offer the green, moderate and beautiful thang with big city stuff. and the chance of being bitten by a hideously poisonous snake would spice ur life up too.

I'd definetely choose London, despite the fact that the food and the weather suck. I love the atmosphere, all the markets and that you can look like whatever you want and noone will stare at you as there are so many people there that look "different". The only problem is that it is an extremely expensive city.
I'd also like to live in Brussels, not many people seem to like it, but IMO it's a beatiful town with a lot of atmosphere (especially in summer)
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Oh wait, it has to be somewhere you don't already live...err stupid me...

...well, I recently visited the gold coast, also in australia but a lot further north...and i must say i really liked it there a lot and would consider moving there maybe someday.

parts of oregon, US, where my girlfriend currently lives are beautiful, too...quite visually different to AUS, but very lush and green which i also like...just a bit too much rain for me though.

cornwall england is nice also in the lush department and for the history, but i'd rather live there when i'm old than young.

verdict for me: australia is probably the best country in which to live.

England...(because it's my second home, basically, already)...

France...(it is a romantic place, in my experience...I especially enjoyed it during this one time I got lost for a few hours while in the city when I couldn't remember the name of my hotel to be able to get back to it neutral so, I just strolled around for a while and I remember feeling really good and smiling alot...then later my friends came looking for me and found me, thankfully, so I was fine---they had an idea of where to look, and everything turned out okay in the end...but, while I was lost France seemed like the greatest place on earth.. smile)...

Canada...(it's so beautiful there...and clean!!)...

I'm with your APril.

Baltimore, MD is an excellent place. Not too county, not too city. In reasonable driving distance to NY, Philly.

I loved it there.

However, if I could afford it I'd love to live in NY. Not one of the boroughs, the actual island of Manhattan.

I know that's a pipe dream. I can hardly afford to live in New Jersey.sigh

I'd consider Boston (my birth city) or New York City (specifically, Manhattan). But the cost of living in both of these cities can be sky-high, and having a car in either one can be impractical. While I have no problem using the subway for day-to-day transportation, my Miata is very special to me, and I'd hate to give it up.

I've enjoyed my visits to Chicago and Minneapolis, so I'd consider them as well. I've actually considered making a move to Chicago on multiple occasions in the past--I almost went to law school there. And from what little I've seen of Atlanta, it also seems like a possible candidate.

As for outside the US--Paris would be an obvious choice, since I've been there and loved it. (Too bad my French is extremely rusty.) And I like Canada as a country, although I'm not sure where in Canada I'd want to live.

All of the above is hypothetical, though. I am where I am (Indianapolis) by choice, and on balance, I think it offers a great combination: 1) urban amenities; 2) low cost of living; 3) automobile-friendly (we keep three cars at our downtown apartment complex); 4) good safety and cleanliness by urban standards; and 5) the general feeling of living in an up-and-coming city.

Also, my work (attorney) requires a professional license issued by the state. If I were to move to another state, there's the possibility that I'd have to take their bar exam to get licensed there. (One bar exam was enough, thanks.) And moving to another country would probably force me to do some law studies in that country (or find a new line of work altogether).

Update: I forgot to mention... I've never traveled anywhere west of Chanhassen, Minnesota. I'm sure there are some nice places to live out west, perhaps on the West Coast, but I haven't been able to get out there yet. sad

U guys have the coolest sibling relationship outside of mine and my brother's! It's cool that u both hook up here, what better way 2 keep in touch when living situations dictate otherwise.

If my brother were more computer literate, or even knew how 2 turn it on, lol I'm sure we'd b posting back & forth 2...

Keep it up biggrin
