Quit Facebook now for better mental health Trust me it will work for you
If you have been thinking about deleting Facebook then you should do so now The bad outweighs the good Yes you can keep up with friends and family far away on Facebook but you can also get their phone number and communicate by text Facebook sales your data, your the product,it is addicting to some people, there are a lot of fakers on Facebook posting like their life is amazing but in reality they are depressed and miserable I had a Facebook from July of last year until March of this year.Ot was fun fun for the first few months but got stale and boring quick Got tired of seeing pictures of what people were having for supper or pictures of their kids or naughty pictures of female friends posting tattoos on their breasts I may sound weird with this one but I believe Facebook ages you quicker I've been off of it for 2 weeks and overall my mood is a lot better amd my anxiety is non existent I will be glad when Facebook is gone for good.idk if that day will ever happen in my lifetime though [Edited 2/25/23 15:20pm]

I got on it years ago to stay in touch with my son when he went off to college. It seems he didn't like talking on the phone and I wanted more conversation than monosyllabic grunts in response. Even he and his friends would only text one another on the phone! I still use it only for friends/family/some bands. Maybe check FB once or twice a week. Other than that it's boring as hell. I agree that cutting back or quitting social media sites is beneficial for your health! I've never seen the need for Facebook to be honest. I moved back to Ireland about 10 years ago but all my family and friends are still back in Australia and even then, I see Facebook as a pointless app. If I want to speak to them, we all have WhatsApp. Although, I'm pretty sure Facebook own Whatsapp anyway so they're stealing my data either way. I had Myspace when I was a kid but that's about it for me and social media. Never had a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or anything else. As far as I can see, all those things exist purely to advertise crap to you that you don't need and sell your data to the highest bidder. Thanks but no thanks.

Well I never got far into FB. I got to watch it pretty much come and go without me. Time keeps on slipping into the future...
This moment is all there is...

I still keep my account because it's a good way (the only way, really) to keep up with the theatre groups I work with - auditions and whatnot. But I find it's mostly ads, anymore - plus I have a few friends who just spam my feed with their vacation pics and shit I couldn't care less about. (Gee, I wonder why, when we have brunch, they never pester me to take a "brunch with great friends" photo that they can post to make their lives seem worthwhile? ) We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

To the anger of friends and family, I deleted my account 7 years ago.
