1933, yeah I mistyped, meant 30s. That was the best one. [Edited 2/26/23 2:59am]

No, TriStar's fake 1998 version was referred to as 'zilla by us hardcore fans.
I'd love to see Legendary remake 1966's "War of the Gargantuas". That was one of Toho's best non-Godzilla monster films.
(Japan) Different Godzilla film eras; Showa (1954-1975) Heisei (1984-1995) Millennium (1999-2004) Reiwa (2016-present)

I wish there was a way to change your username on here . I chose this one as a joke, thinking I could just change it later. Now I'm stuck with it. I've never seen Kick Ass.

Well every King Kong movie I saw I liked including King Kong 1976 and The 2005 Jack Black/Peter Jackson. Haven't seen the 1933 version, heard it's good, though King Kong is clay animation (I think that's what it's called. Haven't seen the 1986 King Kong lives. All the recent King Kong movies were good For Godzilla movies I like all those 1950's/60's Japanese movies better. Also like the Godzilla cartoon from the 1970's

To this day, the best Godzilla movie is still the original 1954 Japanese version, not the butchered, watered-down U.S. version with Raymond Burr. As for G-sequels, my favorite is 1964's Mothra vs Godzilla.

Problem? I cited the source directly. Not only that, it's literally the first result if you type "c'mon Shelly" in YouTube.

[Edited 3/1/23 18:03pm] It's too over the top for me. I remember an interview I seen with Gene Wilder where he was talking about comedy and I think he hit the nail on the head as far as the comedy I like goes. He said that the straighter the comedian plays it, the funnier it is. If you get a sense that the actor saying the lines truly believes 100% in what he's saying that it's much funnier than if the were jumping up and down and making faces at the camera and that kind of thing. It's why Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Gun is far funnier than anything Kevin Hart, Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler will ever do. They're too loud and obnoxious to be funny. Unless, of course, you find loud and obnoxious to be funny. But I don't.

That 1998 P.O.S. from TriStar is sacrilege to us hardcore Godzilla fans.
Emmerich & Devlin did to Godzilla what Joel Schumacher did to Batman.

Emmerich & Devlin did to Godzilla what Joel Schumacher did to Batman. I can understand that. I kind of put Godzilla and Batman Forever in the same category of "shit but weirdly enjoyable 90s action movies". I've never seen any of the really old Godzilla movies though. And I've never been a huge Batman fan so that's probably why I can enjoy those movies for what they are. I should actually watch those old Godzilla and Kong movies though.

The 1954 Japanese original is still the best Godzilla movie (way better than the watered-down 1956 U.S. version w/ Raymond Burr). As for sequels, my favorite has always been 1964's 'Mothra vs Godzilla'.
As for Kong, nothing tops the 1933 original.

[Edited 2/14/23 13:36pm] That's just it though. I can't speak for anyone else but I'm not a DC nut or a Batman nerd. Far from it. I've seen less than half of the MCU movies and only like 3 of the DCEU movies. And even then, I didn't watch most of those by choice. But I will likely go see The Flash. Not because Michael Keaton is in it and definitely not because I'm already invested in the overarching DCEU story, if there is one. I just think it looks like a fun movie. It will probably end up being terrible but the trailer has convinced me to give it a go. Well the flash has the highest test audience scores well into the high 80 percentages. Movies rarely ever get that high of rating; Let alone a superhero movie. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
