21 books a year is pretty good especially given an adult life. I don't think I will accomplish that. I will be doing a lot of re-reading this year while adding some new books hopefully 1 or 2 current books. The book, or rather series, I'm reading now is demanding a lot of my brain space, the idea of starting another book right now is out of the question. It's so dense and detailed but I'm loving it . I'm almost done with the main series but there's another 4th book in the series but by a different author, I'm debating getting. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

I usually set my goal around 12 or 13. I average a book a month, unless it's just shorter or whatever. God knows SK books are fucking long as hell sometimes. But worth it. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

I probably need to get into something else other than scifi for a little while. Maybe more on the Gilded Age? Or a biography? My head is full right now, I'm feeling a little shaken but a part of me wants more. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Barbra Streisand bio is coming this year, I'll get that. I'm about as into the Royals as I am the Kardashians. I get all I need to know from the air more or less. I've settled on some history I've been vaguely curious about but don't hear much about and it's bhm so everything's in stock. I finished the 3 body series, and geesh it was a ride and a half. I've already ordered another Cixin Liu book, I'm going to get into more of his work. But yeah I need mental breaks in between his books. I'm interested in the Netflix series IF they can get it off the ground. I might give Richard Bach a try sounds kinda interesting. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

The Bach book is really good. A friend alerted me to it in 1987 while I was in the Navy. I've read it many times over the years. Bach also wrote Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Bach is an aviator, so there are pilots and flying in a lot of his books. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

I just came across a book, The Explorers that has the history of my city from prior to it "being on the map" until the 1970s. I got curious about what the 1st records had to say about this area. I had realized all one learns in school is who landed 1st, then the missions all along the coast of the state and some random facts about the indigenous people then nothing else for the most part until the US Navy showed up and took over. I wanted to know was it sneered at since it's supposedly a desert area with short shrubs. After skimming the book, though it wasn't a bustling hub until the mid to late 1800s, a lot of politics were going on which explains some things that pop into my head randomly some days like why we don't have Spanish as a 1st language on this end of the country. And it looked far different. I knew a big azzed river once flowed through it every major storm reminds folks of that fact. But it had big trees, nice wild game. It was a thriving place for a while. Explains it's big farming era. Why it was covered in citrus groves while I was growing up. The smell in the air after a heavy down pour was amazing back then. Ah well, those days are gone. Anyway, so I'm hooked for a while.
