R.I.P. Goose

Tony Siragusa, former NFL..., dies ...

I met Goose once when he played for the Colts and they played a game against the then expansion

Carolina Panthers in 1995 when the Panthers had to play at Clemson University it's 1st season

until the Panthers got their stadium built. He was nice and pretty cool to chat with. After losing that game little did I know they would go on to the 1996 AFC championship game against my Steelers and give me the scare of my life. lol

Former All-Pro running backs Adrian Peterson, Le'Veon Bell to box in exhibition on July 30

Adrian Peterson, the NFL's fifth all-time leading rusher, and Le’Veon Bell, a former two-time All-Pro, are slated to face off in an exhibition boxing match on July 30 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, promoter Social Gloves Entertainment announced Friday.

Neither Peterson, 37, nor Bell, 30, has ever competed in a boxing ring, or officially retired from the NFL.

Peterson played in a total of four games in 2021 -- three for the Tennessee Titans and one for the Seattle Seahawks -- to mark his 17th NFL season and his sixth and seventh teams. Bell also saw time for a pair of teams in 2021, splitting eight appearances with the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Guess I will be rooting for Adrian Peterson

Interesting dynamic here as I don't have a dog in the fight as to who I want to win.

Most Steelers fans are rooting for Adrian Petersen because they still sour over the holdout

4 years ago then you have the fans who are rooting against Petersen because he abused his child and making jokes about it like he finally gets to hit an adult.

I have no rooting interest in it but I would watch if it were free.

Baker to Carolina;

Cleveland Browns trade Ba...nthers ...

I'm surprised the Carolina Panthers didn't pick up Malik Willis. They didn't even have to waiste their first round pick on him. If they would have traded up 8 spots they could have even gotten him in the 3rd round. They did get Matt Corral in th 3rd round. So Panthers now have Mayfield, Corral and Darnold (plus XFL star PJ Walker) . Guessing Darnold will get traded hmmm

Charles Johnson, former Pittsburgh Steelers WR and Colorado Buffaloes star, dies at 50

Charles Johnson, a star wide receiver at Colorado and first-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, has died at 50.

The cause of Johnson's death was unknown as of Wednesday afternoon. He had been working as the assistant athletic director at Heritage High School in Wake Forest, North Carolina, at the time of his death, which was confirmed by Colorado.

WNCN-TV in Raleigh reported Wednesday that police found a body in a hotel room Sunday during a welfare check at a Hampton Inn and Suites and that a preliminary investigation indicated no signs of foul play.

Johnson was selected by the Steelers with the 17th overall pick in the 1994 NFL draft and played five seasons for Pittsburgh, hauling in 247 receptions for 3,400 yards and 15 touchdowns. His best season with the Steelers was in 1996, when he had 60 catches for a career-high 1,008 yards and three touchdowns.

Glad to see Cliff Branch finally get into the HOF....long overdue, and they should have done it when he was alive. He was just as money as the other great WRs of his era. And it's a crime Joe Klecko isn't in.

Julio Jones to Tampa. We'll see how much he has left;
