If my boss weren't nice I would have walked out of my current job in an exasperated huff on my first week.

She's cool. She walked by my cubicle while I was on the Org and didn't say anything. She could give me a promotion though.

But I wish I did! On my last job, I had a great boss named Joe. He was the nicest boss I ever had, and he and I got along great. He was always complimenting me and telling me that I was doing a great job. When Joe found out that my job was being eliminated due to company restructuring, he was sincerely upset, he did not want to see me leave. I probably will never have another boss as nice as Joe was. I have worked with a lot of idiot bosses during my career. As Prince sings in the song "Sometimes It Snows In April": those kind of cars don't pass U every day. That's how I felt about Joe. I miss not working with him, he was a truly a great guy! [This message was edited Mon May 5 17:37:53 PDT 2003 by psychodelicide] RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

You're lucky your boss doesn't say anything to you about being on the org during company time. My other three bosses (not Joe, he was cool about everything) would get all up in my business if they saw me on the org for even more than a few minutes. When they left to go to a competing company, I was glad, because I knew that I wouldn't have to put up with that bullshit anymore. But it wound up hurting me in the end, because with them leaving the company, my job got eliminated. Good luck Phil, I hope you get that promotion. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I hate my boss. I try not to...but, it's difficult when she has gotten to where she is by having a 'relationship' with the former chair of our department. She was hired in right out of school for, no lie, nearly three times what I make.
Also, she has no idea what she's doing (has no previous experience or training/education in public relations, marketing or any related field) and often takes credit for my work and refers to me as 'her staff' when she and I are the only two people in the P.R. and Marketing office. She was recently appointed the interim COO of our practice plan and she has basically run it into the ground. We're having to close clinics and lay people off and nothing can be done about it until we have a permanent CEO in place. In short...she sucks.

Hm.
I'm blessed to have 2 "immediate" supervisors who are quite nice, quite laid back, they are never standing over my shoulder, literally or figuratively (GOOD THING, too!) My other boss (through the company that hired me for my job.. she's somewhat.. how can I say this.. "very detail oriented" but even she, she's proven to "have my back" most every time I think I've needed it.. I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS.. | |
