It's true though, right? There was no explanation in the movie for who this guy is. We know the other characters because they've either been in previous MCU movies or they're famous characters who are widely known. But Fork-Head has only appeared in a shit TV series which was cancelled after only a few episodes.

I can't lie. I seen it and thought of a fork too 😂
My Gf had no clue to who all the Alt heros were.
She asked "who were all those knock off people supposed to be" falloff
Mr fantastic and Professor X knock offs.. I cry 😂
Obviously she doesn't know much about marvel.
But shes gonna get use to it evillol
My sister knows the movies, but didnt recognizes some of them either.

I'm not 100% sure. But I think The Inhumans ran 1 season and was not renewed.

My knowledge of superheroes comes exclusively from either movies or cartoons. But I reckon I know more than the average person. So if I don't know who certain characters are, then the writers haven't done a good enough job explaining them to the audience.

That being said, the whole Illuminati scene wasn't really that big of a deal to the overall plot and the inclusion of the X-Men cartoon theme song is enough for me to overlook most, if not all, minor issues with the movie. After all, I don't have a clue who Charlize Theron was playing in the post credits scene but I'm extremely excited for what comes next.

I feel like I've said this is another thread.

I collected comics through the 1970-1990s. A few dedicated years, then later a more here and there thing. I probably had 300+ comics. About 4 comic boxes full. I was more a Spiderman, x men. Transformers lol GI joe, Spawn, venom. I would see comic book events, so sometimes I buy stuff I didnt really know. Captain Amarica is fired and replaced with a new guy and costume! I was like buy it! A collector's item? 😂 Most of my knowledge comes from that. But as you I did watch some cartoons and movies. Of course I dont know all the stuff. No clue who Charlize Theron supposed to be, . I'm still learning.
Rocket Racoon was a 4 issue limited series in early 80s. Now hes a Guardians of the galaxy? The Eternals.. who?

It's cool to see these marvel movies come to life. Sure some are hit and miss. I might not like them all but I know I'll end up watching them

You're all crazy. lol This was the worst movie ever. Dialog like "with a whisper from his mouth", completely one-dimensional characters, bad plot, unfunny jokes, scenes that were so ridiculous they were actually funny (like Zombie-Strange giving a pep talk to America), bad CGI and WTF was that Illuminati shit and useless cameos? I like good Marvel movies. This was really, REALLY bad. lol neutral

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

If you think this is "the worst movie ever" then it's very obvious that you haven't seen many movies lol

I totally get it. Some of us love it, some hate it. I argue with coworkers that it was better than Spiderman. And a few of them loved the Venom movies. God, I disliked them. But you damn well I'm gonna go see them lol

The two worst movies ever in my book are Suicide Squad and Harley Quinn: The Fantabulous Expialidocious Emancipation something or other.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

Black Bolt was in the movie because he was part of the Illuminati in the comics along with Mister Fantastic, Professor X, Doctor Strange, Iron Man and Namor. Captain America was also part of the group for a short time. With Captain Carter replacing Steve Rogers and Captain Marvel replacing Iron Man, I'm assuming Marvel wanted to keep the rest of the group as comics-acccurate as possible so they included Black Bolt from the TV series. It wouldn't make as much sense to me to have an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. in this clandestine group who steers world events for the greater good. No one other than maybe Nick Fury has that kind of clout.

I see where you're coming from but at the same time, it makes no sense to me to include a character most people won't know. It's a fun Easter egg for the small percentage of moviegoers who read the comics but I think having a more recognizable character would have made that moment mean more. Like, if they replaced him with an Iron Man variant or something it would have served to drive home the point to the audience that this group is a big deal. Rather than saying "here's Mr Fantastic, Captain Carter, Professor X and some guy with a fork on his head".

Since the actor was previously cast, it was an obvious decision to include Black Bolt. He was introduced, his powers explained and there was a scene showing him use his powers. That's all that was necessary for the movie audience. It's not so bad to have one relatively unknown character if all the others in the group were familiar in one way or another.

I also feel Black Bolt being in the movie was a small reward for those of us who suffered through the TV series--like watching it wasn't a total waste of time. And maybe his appearance will generate interest in some people towards his show that's already streaming on Disney+. They'll be disappointed though, hah.
