Welp they're on hiatus until the 16th. Amber's PR team isn't making a dent it seems.

Her legal team are a bunch of monkeys fighting their way out of a barrell. Some of the questioning, and subsequent defense witness's answers are honestly LOL'able.

True. I was told on the last day her team was trying to run out of time so that the jury would only be left with her "tearful" testimony to mull over. Looks like that was a major mistake. Because every detail is just being broken down as so fake, every struggle tear. every word. I haven't seen much said that's boost her side. I wonder how much she's shelling out for PR.

Glad you brought that up.

While I've seen this before, but one time on Dr. Phil, a woman - a child's grandmother - was upset because she thought her son-in-law had raped her grandchild. She got in her high voice, her feelings, and anything else to be loud and convincing. Dr. Phil looked at her and said, "I hear the emotion, but I don't see any tears." Her face was dryer than my ankles right now.

I saw parts of Amber's testimony, talking about she thought he was her soulmate but "something else came out of him," "it was this thing that just came out." She's verbally crying, but her face was as dry as summer concrete.

I was rather shocked when I saw it. My reaction was "that is just so fake. They jury is never going to buy that."

Which means she's not only a liar, but a terrible actress. I kinda hope she's blacklisted for years and years. Even Katherine Heigl is nowhere, doing cat litter commercials. Her last movie, Fear of Rain, was released in February last year and made - wait for it - $170,000 at the box office. She's had some TV roles, but her outburst dissing the writers on Grey's Anatomy was enough to put her out of work for about four years.

This trial, and Heard's utter narcissism and lack of empathy or compassion is going to make her un-insurable, which will subsequently make her un-hireable.

Yep she was terrible. I think the jury is mostly older men so her tears might have been to move them. It looked stupid to me since everybody knows you're a blockbuster actress and so much time has passed since all these alleged events, how could all this be making her so frail and vulnerable now? There was controversy that she was sniffing something on the stand, of course people say it was all kinds of ridiculous things but I saw a breakdown of something actors sniff to generate tears so maybe. I couldn't tell I was watching the whole thing on my phone and I had to work. I was just snickering thru the whole thing. This the same woman who bought the man that big azzed inscribed butcher knife, now was terrified for her life. HA. How the UK courts fell for this is beyond me.

And she didn't even blow her nose, or have a tissue in her hand. Even older men see thru that bullshit.

Yeah I saw her rubbing her runny nose with her hand in this post Covid world. But I didn't see her sniff anything up her nose yet so many people swear she literal sniffed something.

I can't wait for the cross examination since Johnny's lawyers got excited about something Amber said on the stand regarding Kate Moss. I'm clueless what that situations about. I saw that "gotcha" move they did, though. Guess I'll read up on Kate & Johnny btwn now and Monday.

I have listened to a "secret" recording of Johnny's staff when they were trying to get things organized after the Australia disaster and J finger. It's a wrap for her. No mentions of any injuries for her given all the glass she was allegedly dragged thru. Too bad one of those people have passed since.

Ok. Seems Heard is in trouble with Australia also. Over her dogs. Seems she's being caught in a web of lies. I vaguely remember the incident but didn't know it was as serious as it is. Possibly up to 10 years in jail if convicted. I hardly doubt it'll come to that but it's a serious offense nonetheless. That whole trip to Australia was a complete and utter disaster for them. Poor Johnny.

P&R's been gone for a hot minute.

Amber Heard's had a b-list acting career, set apart from Magic Mike or playing Mera in the Justice League movies (which fans are lobbying to get her out of the next installment via petition; not sure how much that will stick).

I'm surprised you didn't figure out P&R was closed when you started your Ukraine thread and it got locked and Luv gave you an explanation.

This isn't a politcal thread, and there are no 'fierce' fueds.

You don't like the topic, then don't comment, but you just had to give your 2 cents twocents to bring the thread off topic.

I have never signed a petition in my life. But even if this whole thing with Johnny Depp didn't happen I'd still sign whatever petition it takes to get her out of Aquaman 2 just on the basis that she is a terrible, terrible actress.

The trial has sure proved that. haha

I should start a thread about Justice League movies. I have thoughts.

And all I was asking is some love and respect for what is happening.

Remember ?

If it is closed down due to that, well, what was the P&R forum for then.

Sure it always had pros and cons... that's also what it was created for.

It was interesting.

But I don't mind.

And still, I don't know who Heard is. wink

Depp's lawyer laid into her yesterday or today, making it clear what she did with the $7M divorce settlement, vs what she said she did. It's rather delicious, these clips on YouTube.

Camille Vasquez is amazing!

"Donating" and "Pledging" are vastly different things and she knows it. Using them "interchangeably" is just legal-ese to explain why she hasn't done it yet. She never said she was pledging, she always said that all of her divorce settlement would be donated.

She tried to use those donations (or claims of donating) to bolster her image in the press.

Yeah, and a celebrity donating money isn't exactly a big booster to image anymore. They're rich - they should be donating money to help or give back. She couldn't tie a shoe if it had Velcro™ closures.

Team this, theam that...

we're all 'team media' and 'team social media'.

This public trial is actually self-created by the parties involved, and only makes lawyers richer, and these empathicaly poor actors less rich.

It's "Public" because Johnny Depp insisted that the entire trial be broadcast live. He did not want a closed-door trial. Amber Heard fought against having it broadcast.

Depp wanted the testimony seen and heard. The video footage, the audio recordings. The mannerisms on the witness stand, etc.

Neither of them are "innocent", but I do think she has fabricated a lot of allegations for $$$.

Also - this is not a criminal trial. No one is going to jail. It's about money, and for Depp it's about clearing his name.

Exactly not what I thought then. I did not know for instance - did anyone know? - about Depp's wish for the trial to be broadcast. Makes sense if Amber had tried to drag his name through the mud, at the same time as airing his dirty laundry in public. I guess Heard just wanted to be Heard. The plot ever thickens. If Leslie Nielsen came back from the dead to enter the courtroom drama with a funny pun, I wouldn't question it. If Harry Nilsson returned from the afterlife to inject a musical sonnet into proceedings I wouldn't question it. I would however protest, "Can we have John Lennon back please?"

Don't worry, I haven't gone mad. Not even touched hard drugs in a loooonnng time.
