Pachinko (TV Series and Novel)

Is anyone watching the series on AppleTV+?

I read the book in 2020, and thought it was just beautiful. When I'd heard it was options for a limited series, I was thrilled, but knew there was a huge wait ahead.

So far, the mini-series is great. There is some flash forward to 1989 and then flash back to the regular time line, showing moments in Sunja's life of life and death, history repeating itself, etc.

The first three episodes were released March 25, 2022, and one each week thereafter through the end of April. It's in Korean, Japanese, and English, so a lot of subtitles. But totally worth it.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I finished the series over the weekend. It was the best thing I've seen on TV in years. I give it a perfect score. 10/10

It really was so wonderful. The cinemephotography was excellent.

Apparently, it's been renewed for a second season. And seeing as how a lot of the latter half of the book and other major elements were left out, there's room for more story.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
