Robert Morse has passed away.

I first heard, to my knowledge, of Robert Morse when I randomly checked out the LP to How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying from the library, in 1991. A decade later, I would finally see the movie version, where he reprised his role as the affable J. Pierpont Finch; who quickly rose to the heights of the World Wide Wicket company by reading a manual - the play's namesake - and following the instructions to a T. He won a Tony for his role. The cast album won a Grammy.

He won a second Tony in 1989 for playing Truman Capote in Tru on Broadway.

He also appeared in Wicked, replacing Joel Grey as the Wizard.

He would later have a great role on the hit show Mad Men as Bertram Cooper. He was nominated five times for a primetie Emmy for that role, and won a SAG award for that role.

More recently he played writer Dominic Dunne in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Morse was 90, less than a month from his 91st birthday. He died April 20.

I really enjoyed his work. His TV credits are endless, it seems.
