The Last Duel
I loved this movie. Went in not having seen any press, media or opinions about. Never read the book, either, I might have to on this one. Just thinking what an odd title. I personally loved the way the story was told in 3 parts. I've seen reviews that say the parts tell the same story and that couldn't be further from the truth.
Having the movie open with the duel I think was a good choice. Making it more intense once you know all that's at stake. I think I held my breathe through the entire scene. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Then I have only one thing to say: Read the book by Eric Jager! And I don't know if it's mentioned in the movie, but this was the last time a trial by duel was held in France. That explains the title. The book will tell you all about the background and the judicial system in medieval France. [Edited 1/23/22 2:25am] If you take any of this seriously, you're a bigger fool than I am. | |

Time keeps on slipping into the future...
