Deleted My Facebook Account Today

It just wasn't fun for me anymore, so I decided to leave it behind. I was spending way too much time on there anyway. Now I will have more time to do more important things that I have been procrastinating on.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

That’s brave of you. I can’t imagine deleting mine, it keeps me connected socially with people and has led to opportunities

I used to feel the same way, but Facebook has become so annoying, that for me, it was an easy decision lol!

I don't scroll endlessly thru it. I have 102 friends, and even that I am quick about checking on. If it weren't for being able to keep in contact w/ folks, I'd have deleted it long ago.

It's always a little intense when people have to "delete" accounts to stop visiting places... You can't just stop visiting Facebook?

Absolutely, but it could be a temptation (going down a rabbit hole as many of us do), or maybe they just don't want that digital presence anymore.

FB is a good way to keep in touch with people, but sadly,I have completely lost interest in it.

I definitely have stopped using Facebook and all social media platforms. It just doesn't interest me anymore.

Me neither. I've never had an interest in it. Lots of people have asked me to join over the years, but I won't do it. Sure, I do miss out on a few things like keeping in touch with old friends and some family, but I speak to my close friends and family regularly and that's enough for me.

I left facebook 7 years ago.

I'm on instagram though - I use it mostly for work, and it helps tbh.

But i start to regret it again... since it became the new facebook.

Hate the 'one post - two advertisements' approach.

And you have to pay attention to see if it is an advertisement or not.

Not being able to see what you like, those you'd like to follow, unless you spend 5 hours a day checking all settings per post/ follower or whatever, or probably pay for it.

A humanly impossible tangle that avenge time.

Yeah i know it is so call 'all for free', accepting the rules of the game... whatever.

Still it all is becoming too big.

-

Faceboo, Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter, etc...

They all are just huge advertisement companies.

Distributors of advertisement of all sorts, unfiltered, indisciminate.

And we all swalow it and have it shove up our asses with the smartest & addictive of all pleasures; the 'like' and 'dislike' button.

-

So basically we're all fucked.

They are so big right now, even politics or any laws can touch 'm (hard enough).

They disrupt our lives, and our behavior, whether we like it or not, and whether we admit it or not.

(...ending with the black laughter of the 'Thriller' song...)

So true! I have never had an Instagram account, even though I got several invitations to join. I was never interested in it, since I was already spending so much time on Facebook. I'm enjoying my new-found freedom. Prince's song "Emancipation" comes to mind here lol. smile

Why did you spend a lot of time on something you don´t like? wink

.

I´m still on FB because it helps me to stay in touch with international friends but I don´t post as much as I used to....I barely post there at all. Most of the time I use it to send messages or write comments.

It used to be more fun before they started censoring nudity and sex related stuff while turning a blind eye to racist or fascist postings, and I don´t like how they grab and sell personal data.

.

Part of the reason why I don´t post the things I used to post there is that I have a bunch of people on my friends list that make me think twice about what I post there. Colleagues, relatives, schoolmates, random people....I know I could just delete them or select who can see what I post but I just can´t be bothered.

.

I do have an alternate account there with just a few "friends" who are not even real friends, and with that account I post and share much more interesting things while my real account is becoming more and more boring as time goes by.

.

It´s also a good way to get the latest news if you´ve "liked" certain magazines and newspapers. But it gets a bit repetitive.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
