Succession Anybody else watching this great series. Season 3 was the best yet, and the finale was truly amazing. If you have been watching it, what ya think?

Best show I've watched in years! I love it! Although, I will say that there isn't one character on the show I like. They are all a bunch of slimeballs just the like real people they portray. The writing and acting are superb I get a good laugh out of it as well. Can't wait for the next season.

Loved it since day one. Love the acting, how it's shot, it's subtle humor and tension. Gotta respect Gerri she's the most honest reasonable character on the show. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Yes, I guess Gerri is a good characther. At least she tries to do the right thing. I see the show is up for numerous awards again and rightly deserved.

Not once has she lied or played weird head games, she's been direct and upfront with Roman, a perfect mentor, he got in his ego and ignored her instructions, shooting himself in the foot and she, with tact, moved on to what's best for her as she has always said she does. Gotta applaude her. Not a mean bone in her body. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

I agree that the the characters aren't likeable, but the specific damage that each of the grown children portray makes total psychological sense given their relationships with their parents. One thing among many that I loved about the finale this year was that I actually had some empathy for each of the children while still not liking who they were as humans. I especially felt Kendall's brokenness, Roman's refusal to deal with emotions by clinging to cynical humor, and Chiv's almost sociopathic iciness and manipulation that covers up the hurt of abandonment from her mother. This is played out in the acting and script in such a nuanced way that is in great contrast to the melodrama of soap operas like Dallas. It is interesting I am neglecting to talk about Connor given that his issue is being totally left out of the family loop. He seems to pull for this , Any way, I thought the finale was the biggest water cooler moment itv episode in years.

Yes, and they have had some laugh out loud moments such as when Greg was pondering about whether or not he should sell his soul to the devil in the finale and concluded what was he able to do with a soul any way (this description is an injustice to have it played out in the scene).

True. Greg and Connor are 2 different spectrums of jesters. Love them. I couldn't at first understand why it was listed as a comedy 1st then a drama. But then I caught on there are constant funny quips in the normal conversation, easy to miss if distracted. I must admit I feel for them all, the most for Ken, he hurts my heart, then Roman, then Shiv, I hadn't expected her to be so cold-blooded like her father and damn I wanna raid her closet her style is impeccable. The entire look of the show is so satisfying. Funny how you can be captivated by a show that's primarily people standing around talking. Absolutely recommend. It you get a bit weary of it at times, hang in there. Sesaon 3 is out of this world.

I didn't realize The Righteous Gemstones is basically the same story. The dad isn't as evil, the kids aren't as screwed up they're not being pitted against each other. Much sillier yet still the same setup and show. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Not going to read too much here so I don't read spoilers, but just finished season 2 and this is EASILY a 10/10. That doesn't even really do it justice. Just absolutely breathtaking, masterful storytelling. Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?

Just absolutely breathtaking, masterful storytelling. Wait until you see season 3. It was crazy! As I said in my earlier post, the characters are hard to like, but the acting and writing are so good and I love seeing what these right wing, media moguls do to stay in power and control and how they lie and cover up everything. I'm actually surprised how much I like the show, but I do and can't wait for the next season.

A lot has to do with the camera work. It's handled like a documentary. Time keeps on slipping into the future...

Yes, it's a terrific show. My husband and I were hooked from the very first episode. People like the Roy's (i.e. Murdoch's) are money grubbing snakes that don't care about anything other than making more money regardless of the impact their business's have on people. They would screw over their own mother, father, son, daughter for more power and more money. Having said this, I can't wait for season 4. It should be great. Nice to see they are winning some significant awards too.
