Waiting for my dream job to materialize I’ve accepted a job for doing intake work, but hoping for another position to work out. There was one I applied to last year that I really wanted, but it didn’t work out cause I couldn’t update my cpr due to the pandemic though now it is updated. Now they’ve contacted me again for an interview and it combines the arts and social work. Really anxious about the job I did accept and want this one more! Please wish me luck and positive energy [Edited 10/12/21 13:27pm]

I studied art therapy but no it’s not that. It’s as a counsellor at an arts based school

It's excellent they called you back isn't itas they could have gone right over you and on to recent applicants so that has to be a positive sign! [Edited 10/12/21 15:29pm]

Have an update: I passed the phone screening and they interviewed me today. I feel I could have done better though to be fair, I gave lots of examples from previous jobs. And talked about what it’s like working with youth. I wish I was more prepared with interview questions. Will find out next week and feeling impatient

Nobody ever feels like they do good enough in interviews. I'm sure you did a great job. Hope you get the position! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

And so true, I made a list of the positives but now thinking of more questions I could have asked. I also felt awkward cause 3 of them were talking to me and one had nothing to say, so I don’t know. I hope they ask for my references soon [Edited 10/15/21 10:48am]

I feel I could have said way more, and beating myself up for it, cause thebposting was reposted online this weekend, so I most likely didn’t get this one

Well, look at it as a learning experience. As you go through the interview process you will learn how to prepare better and exactly what questions to anticipate and you can fine tune your responses. It's a learning curve, like any other experience, and the more you do it, the better you will become at it. Don't beat yourself up--you did nothing wrong. We can all do job interviews better--everyone! Even if you didn't get the job that doesn't mean that you did anything wrong. Don't stay discouraged; be proactive and plan for the next inverview and stategize how you can improve your interview techniques if you feel you could have done better. Interviewing is a job in and of itself and improves with practice like any other job. Hang in there! They haven't told you anything though have they so until them it's speculation. Purple thunder is right, but also if it's your dream job and you didn't get it this time it sucks and it hurts but you can ask for feedback usually as to why so next time you nail it. My friend didn't get a job, was so sad, asked for feedback and half heartedly wrote it down. Another came up, didn't get that, did same thing.... third interview.... made 10k more than the first job posting in the same job... and met love of his life! So you just don't know why things happen as they can look really bad but then it falls in to place. You may still have the role though, you never know for sure until they tell uou What you want to do is a really worthwhile path, don't be discouraged.

Thanks for the kind words you guys. I still haven’t heard back from them but have little hope. On the other hand, I have 3 interviews coming up this week, and two of them are for a similar position, though I really wanted to at that particular place. Felt down yesterday but feeling a bit better today

Good for you! As Coldcoffee said, there are more opportunities ahead and you may end up with a better position than the one you wanted! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

I got hired, but I’m feeling so nervous! I’m going to have to study an old textbook and whatever class notes I could find from post grad and grad school. It’s a social work position and it will also include doing some art therapy
