I've had pretty bad back pain that at one time I would have rated as the worst pain I ever experienced.

Then I had hemorrhoids one time and the pain was like nothing I'd experienced before.

I've had some major injuies over the years plus my time in boxing, football and martial arts........but NOTHING compared 2 the kidney stone. That was a mofo. I learned that drinking beer dissolves the stones. Once I started drinking beer, they had not returned.

My lower back, which gives me trouble to this day.

One morning, for seemingly no reason at all, I woke up, rolled over and hit the floor. Felt like a knife except it kind of radiated through my legs and my whole body. I literally couldn't walk and had to crawl to the bathroom to take a piss. I've had bad back pain that lasted a day or three before but nothing like this.

This lasted for 2.5 or 3 months. I don't remember. I couldn't sleep longer than 3 or 4 hours since every time I moves, I'd scream and wake myself up. I could hardly wipe my own ass and had to rig a method to do it. Eventually I procured a walker and that helped me at least get around a little bit. I could barely drive or get in and out of a car. I had to sleep in a seperate bedroom because I kept waking up my wife who had to work in the morning. She took me to the ER one Sunday where they jammed me full of Diauded and gave me some Oxy's but it didn't help. A cortisone shot only made things worse AND my insurance refused to cover it. The (asshole) doctor that gave it to me must have missed or something because I screamed when that needle went in. He was supposed to hit between my hip and leg bone but...well...

He gave me shit for screaming in his office. Yeah.

Several doctors accused me of faking to try and get pain medicine, including that guy. My left leg was "bubbling", like a special effect in a horror movie, as the pinched nerve shot signals down my leg. During my MRI, the doctors gave me shit for not "laying still". I COULDN'T. I couldn't lay down flat like they wanted and my leg was moving all on its own. Only person that helped was a chiropractor who hooked me up to a TENS machine that gave me SOME relief.

But the combination of constant pain and sleep deprevation almost drove me crazy. I was like a zombie.

Fucking sucked.

Well, having menstual periods that hurt like hell and bleed like a MF aren't fun. And childbirth is like having the biggest constipation crap in your life that goes on for hours and hours... But I can't even imagine what getting a man's nut crushed would feel like--sounds like hell. At least women have all their organs inside but men don't! I feel for y'all! But also you are right--getting shot or stabbed can't compare. Happy to say that has never happened to me and I hope never will. But, yeah, men can go through just as much or more pain than a woman in childbirth. For me, an infected wisdom tooth was worse than child birth...

I was about to say, there can't be much out there worse than epic toothache (or if there is, I don't want to know!) ... its just constant and savage, and unlike most other injuries, you can't just wander in to A&E to get it sorted, they just shrug and say "go see your dentist".

Actually had a root canal myself, it was fine. Once they jab you up they can pretty much do anything these days and you don't feel it. Same when I had my bottom wisdom teeth out, once they injected me it was fine.

The tooth ache I had that led to the root canal though, that was a bitch. By the time I was in the chair I said just take the tooth, I don't care. To be fair to the dentist he said its right on your smile line so he recommended a root canal. I was like, whatever, just stop it hurting. He did his thing and I'm glad I did, looks and feels fine now

When I had my tooth pulled and the novocaine wore off. I was standing in line at the pharmacy waiting on my pain pills when it happened. I was in tears the pain was so bad.

Yeah my husband had to have a root canal last year and he never had any real pain after it. Even so, I'm terrified of the dentist. I take care of my teeth and I've never even had to get a filling in my whole life but I'm dreading the day I go for a check-up and he tells me I need some work done.
