Flav City With Bobby Parrish - YouTube Channel- Healthy Foods/Ingredients Info.

He has made many informative videos about eating healthy foods, avoiding certain foods, reading ingredients in food labels, etc.

It is important to avoid:

A lot of added sugars in foods.

MSGs

GMOs

Sodium

Natural and artificial Flavor ingredients in food labels

Organic foods are generally more healthy,
read entire food label to see if all
ingredients are healthy.

Healthy cooking oils:

Extra virgin olive oil

Avocado

Unrefined coconut oil.

Avoid:

Corn, vegetable oils.

A better option for frying foods:

Conola or other that is expelled
pressed.

vinegar(pesticides are sprayed on fruits/veggies.

FDA advises against washing meat due to potential for bacterial spread/spraying when the droplets ricochet off the meat.

Rice should be eaten in moderation.

White rice does not have nutrients. Brown rice has nutrients.

Regular pasta does not have nutrients.

White bread should be avoided.

Healthier options:

Whole grain breads and read ingredient list.

Lemon "cooks" fish. It's called ceviche, a very delicious seafood dish. Got to be careful though because it doesn't actually cook more like changes the texture, it's still raw. I found out pineapple does the same thing to raw chicken, leave it too long it destroys the meat, it's horrible after cooking with heat, just mush.

That is why it is good to get tips online on how
to clean certain meats.

I have to learn to make ceviche. I like watching cooking
videos and shows, that is a popular dish.

Turmeric and salt can also be used to clean fish.
It is good to have options!

I've eaten wild rice for years now, it has the fiber of brown rice but more nutrients. I prefer it's taste and smell over white rice well except when making jollof rice, I'm not getting cussed out. Only whole wheat breads, I haven't bought white bread in decades. I love the fall with the abundance of squashes and apples. Roasting every root vegetables under the sun.

I have to try wild rice. There are also healthy pasta
options that Bob talks about in his video posts. I like wheat
and rye bread. The best is home made. Many breads at the
stores have sugar, preservatives.

The bagels that I have been buying for decades have too much
sugar and preservatives, I will look for a healthier brand.

Yep home baked bread is healthier. I'm not a big bread eater outside of deli sandwiches but I think in the next few months I'll try to make my own yeast to make my own bread. Trying to learn more (family)self-sustainability in these post-pandemic times. I've been a big Michael Pollen fan. His montra; Eat Food, Not Too Much, Mostly Plants; is what I say to myself a lot when I get bombarded with tons of do's and don'ts of media. Keeping it simple in my consciousness. He and Alton Brown I've learned a lot from, regarding the science of nutrition and cooking.

And all meals that are home made are healthier!

I like breads and cakes, pastries. 🍮🍰🎂🥨

It is best to eat everything in moderation, and eat
several servings of fresh fruit and veggies daily.

He did a video on Vitamins. The ingredients of Vitamins
also need to be read. Some have too much sugar and
preservatives. I used to take the flintstone Vitamins
when I was a kid, it is not as healthy as many people
think!

items that they buy and avoid some products that have
unhealthy ingredients.

True.

I will not buy the flavored coffee creamer that I used to.
I have to look for a different brand that contains less
sugars and preservatives. I like milk.

I never tried almond milk. If I see a brand that has
healthy ingredients I will use that sometimes for
coffee.

Bob talks about many almond milk brands "Do Not Have Almonds",
they contain cane sugar, preservatives, many unhealthy
ingredients.

The same with many dairy products:

Yogurt, milk, cheese, butter, margarine. They have to be
organic, healthy ingredients.

nuitrician, eating foods that are healthy, what
ingredients to avoid and so on.

I wonder if he is a Virgo or has strong Virgo
influence in his natal chart?
