Ummm don't. No reason to. Play with any other board game. Never burn an Ouija board. If you want to get rid of it, bury it. Don't throw it in a trash can because you don't want somebody else taking it home with them.

never heard that before...........what would happen if you burned it? .........burying it is probly bad for the environment since their not biodegradible.

Yup, us kids found a 50 year old Ouija Board one long hot summer in the attic at my Grandparents farm and tried it out many times. We all claimed that the "spirits" were contacting us but, of course, it was just us lying and pushing the pointer around the board... A bunch of us tried contacting hosts, casting spells, and what not up through middle school because we all wanted to encounter beings from the other side...but no cigar. The only scary experience was another Ouija Board reading at a sleepover when I was 12 where curtains suddenly blew out in the dark...but it turned out to be a girl's older brother fucking with us like on a Brady Bunch episode... On the other hand, as an adult I have experienced the odd Deja vue or dream that was too close to reality to be merely written off as coincidental... But meeting ghosts or spirits--nope!

Well....... I bought one at the local Walmart in the toys/games section many org years ago. I kind of tried it but decided against it........... after many weeks/months I threw it out. I decided not to mess with something which could lead to a portal for the bad spirits.

I'll just stick with my crystals and oracle cards

Yes. There was this one time at band camp someone introduced a Ouija board. The arrow thingy proceeded to move by itself, spelling the letters G-O A-W-A-Y. We didn't get anything after that. It was kind of a letdown.

Yeah it's ok to burn/destroy Ouija boards that were not used to summons the other side beacuse at this point they are just boards. Like I said before if the board was use to cantact thr otherside, bury it. If it's a board you bought and have second thoughts and no contact was made with the other side it's ok to burn/destroy/bury it. Don't throw it away in the trash because you don't want other people to use it. Also there are cases were people who contacted the otherside decided to throw away their ouija boards in the trash can only to have them reappear in their house again.

When I was a kid, I sorta remember reports of people running and crying, leaving the theaters. People were traumatized. This was a time when there wasn't anything that graphic or raw on film before. There was some sexual things, but nothing so directly dealing with religion, demons, possession as this. There were top horror films like Rosemary's Baby, It's Alive. But nothing really affected people like The Exorcist did, because it just didn't exist. It really was a pivotal film in the psychological and horror genres.

It gave way to things like Amityville Horror, Audrey Rose, The Omen trilogy, and so on.

My little 5-year-old mind was scared to death of The Exorcist. The stories people told were just blood chilling. Also, being raised in the church, it was just double off-limits for me.

In 2004, The Version You've Never Seen was released on DVD, after a theatrical release a few years earlier. It included some deleted scenes, and sounds. I saw it at Best Buy. I thought, "you know, I've never seen this. If I'm gonna watch it, I may as well watch this one." I bought it, watched it, and it still spooked me. I was 36.

It's a great movie, and very well done. Music, imagery, framing, etc.

I have a couple of favorite horror films, for different reasons.

Trilogy of Terror. All three stories are by Richard Mathison, a great writer who Stephen King cites as a major source of inspiration. Mathison wrote things like What Dreams May Come, I Am Legend (which no movie has gotten right, yet), The Box, and much much more.

Tourist Trap. A campier horror movie, but there is a death scene that just creeped me the fuck out when I was 12 years old. It was years before I ever saw that movie again, because it played on HBO or Showtime once in 1980, then I couldn't find it for decades. Not until the DVD market exploded.

I remember loving It's Alive. Those little monster babies were so fun. The first A Nightmare On Elm Street was really well done, and bonus young Johnny Depp in a cut-off t-shirt.

I really love horror movies now. I love The Conjuring universe, with Annabelle, The Nun and the Conjuring films.

Oddly, I never cared for the original Halloween much. It always felt like it just dragged ass. Friday The 13th was better back then. I think it, and A Nightmare changed the genre again. The Exorcist opened a door to a new world of horror. But it sorta rebooted itself again in the early aughts.

Oh, also Split is really good. Midsommor was three hours, and made me never want to backpack through anywhere.

When folks ask me what my favorite Stephen King horror story is, I always say Shawshank Redemption. Because fuck a ghost. What is more frightening than to be locked up for two decades, abused, raped, and generally mistreated for something you never did?? That is a nightmare on any street.
