New shows you looking forward to from ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX/CW

OK what new shows from Network TV (ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX/CW) are you looking forward to watching this season?

OK this was a show I was looking forward to but you all know how much this show ended up sucking big time.

Saw the commercial for Ghosts on CBS, will check it out

LA Brea is the other show I will check out. That's pretty much it for me.

The original is one of the greatest shows of all time,

but like when they remake/reboot/retry another greatest, the original Twilight Zone with Rod Serling, part of the feeling is like.... why try to adopt the original name when wouldn't be easier to just make a new anthology sci-fi show or new coming-of-age show.

Like Freaks and Geeks was a great Wonder Years-inspired show, but dunno if it would be as great if they slapped "The Wonder Years" label on it even if it was basically the Wonder Years...

Yes Dexter. I think they're doing (or done) Doogie Howser too. Hawaiian style.

The only new network tv show I'm interested in is still over a year away but when it does eventually release, I'm expecting big things.

City Primeval: High Noon In Detroit is an adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novel of the same name made by the same creative team that made Justified. The story follows a detective on the trail of a serial killer. Timothy Olyphant is reprising his role as Raylan Givens from Justified too so it's kind of like a sequel series to Justified. Raylan Givens isn't in the City Primeval novel so from the sounds of it, it's not going to be a direct re-telling of the book. Which I like. Justified itself was based on a few Elmore Leonard books but acts more like a follow up to them rather than an adaptation. So if City Primeval can come close to matching Justified's quality then we're in for a treat.

That sounds promising! Is their a debut date yet?

They haven't even cast anyone yet, other that Timothy Olyphant of course. So it's probably at least a year or so away. I remember when Justified was in early development back when it was going to be called "Lawman" and if I remember right it was about a year and a half in between the show being announced and it actually airing on TV. So I'd guess we're looking at a similar timeframe.

Yeah I don't like them as well and wish they stop doing it already. I'm ok with bringing back old TV shows with the same cast such as Will & Grace and The X-Files. I'm also ok with continuing a series such as Star Trek the Next Generation. Now the new Fantasy Island starts off with Rosalyn Sanchez character looking at a picture of Mr. Roarke and states that was her uncle, so it's continuing the story. However the show just sucked and could have been good, oh well. I hate the "retelling" approach which is let's just change the sex/race of every character, just make a new show. I'm ok with them doing the Twilight Zone because it's an anthology series. The 80's version (even the 2002 UPN Version) had some good episodes. All of the Twilight Zone series had their stand out episodes/ good episodes/ ok episodes and boring silly episodes. But yes Rod Serling is the man. The new series should do what the 80's version did, just a voice introducing the episodes and no new host.

In the meantime, I'd recommend the book because it's a damn good read.

I also wonder if we might see any other Justified characters making an appearance? Just imagine how cool it would be to see, at the end of season 1 after they've caught their man, Raylan and Detective Cruz say their goodbyes and congratulate each other on a job well done. Then, as Raylan is about to board his plane back to Kentucky, he sees Boyd Crowder arriving in Detroit to set up season 2.

I'm watching the production team of Justified talk about developing the show on PBS and it looks really interesting. Gonna check this one out.

La Brea: Release Date, Plot, Cast & Trailer - OtakuKart

Not bad so far, though it's starting to remind me of Lost since it seems everyone has a secret

Ghosts: Season One Ratings - canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

A fun show, has the lady from IZOMBIE in it.

Chucky - Rotten Tomatoes

Chucky does work as a TV series. Good that it's being played on cable TV that way Chucky can use all the F bombs he wants to lol

I'll watch Queens until it gets cancelled.

Wonder Years is good, but not classic like the original.

I'm not interested in anything else just so it can get axed in a year or without resolution.

Well for the 2nd episode of Chucky, it was their Halloween episode. Lexy's parents said they were going over to Dr. Mixters for a costume party, clearly a shout out to Halloween 2 which also had Dr. Mixter.

Well if your not into scfi then it's not for you. I hope there is a beginning, a middle, and a end to the series and the network won't drag it out like they did for Lost and Smallvile

I like scifi, but some of these shows don't appeal to me. shrug I tried.

I did enjoy the first two episodes of Chucky, mainly because the main character is gay, and I like the fact that all these high school kids curse like real high school kids, at least if you catch the show after 10 p.m.

The main character isn't a stereotype either. He is an artist and couldn't relate to his homophobic father, but he isn't effeminate, and neither is his crush. Not that there's anything wrong with being effeminate. I just like that they didn't go for something too obvious.

I thought it was cute that everyone somehow seems to know about the guy and his crush, and throw them in a closet for "seven minutes in hell." (I think "hell" was just because it was a Halloween party, not anything judgmental.) Unfortunately the guy is very concerned about his psychotic doll, and nothing happens with his crush.

I liked the fact there is another killer (besides Chucky) in the series. The maid knew to much and that is why someone killed her.
