HELP! My neighbor is driving me crazy!!!

Last night my neighbor started making niose at 10PM and did not shut up until 2:30 AM. It sounded like he was dropping something heavy over and over. Then it sounded like he was smashing dishes in the sink.

I never see him around the apartment block and when I am at home during the day I never hear anything. I have approached the landlord on other occassions, but little has been done. Last night was the last straw.

How can I get my point across to the landlord?

Then take a baseball bat and smash in his door and then his head, that should get the point across

Neither, really. They know about my complaints, but they do not live in the building.

Do what I did with a troublesome neighbor

Slap em with a letter from a lawyer

It works wonders

Anxiety

I want to invent a machine that is basically a big heavy boot hooked up to a hydraulic pump, that you can turn on before you go out at night for dinner or a movie, and it continually kicks the floor, thus ensuring at least a couple of hours of torment for those pesky neighbors.

Until then, I've found that setting my alarm clock for 8:30 am before I leave for work gives my noisy downstairs nite-owl neighbors a nice, shrill wake-up call (it stops after 15 minutes or so) - I've only had to resort to that revenge tactic once.

SOME people would say, though, that you should take the nice route and just drop by the neighbor's apartment and say "I don't know if you know this, but you do something at night that makes so much noise that I can't sleep. I don't want to be a hassle, but..." - chances are, the neighbor has no clue he's being so loud, and will be more considerate. Or, if you never see him, drop him a really nice note. Start off on the good foot - you never know when you might get locked out and need your neighbor's help.

The first time you call the cops, it's a warning.

The next time they show up, it's a ticket with a court date.

The third time they show up, the guy is arrested.

Been there, done that.

peace

I had a neighbor who would practice his guitar starting at about 11pm and go on and on and if he would have been good it would have been ok but it was obvious he was taking lessons and wasting his money. Anyway I had a friend come over one night and play his guitar really loud so the guy could hear and he came over and was like oh can you hear me too? and I was like uh yeah and he apologized and then asked my friend who is a GREAT guitar player to play some more. It worked out cool when he practiced from then on he wore headphones or turned it way down if it was late.
We were cool until he moved.

I've tried to be polite, it does not work -- all I get is "Yeah, yeah, fuck off"
