Yes, that actor plays villains so well that I can´t imagine him being maybe a nice guy in real life. wink

You do know he is the voice of Mr. Krab in the “Spongebob Sqauarepants” cartoon series? And he had a very sympathetic part as Carey Mulligan’s father in “Promising Young Woman “

No, didn´t know that at all. lol

There was an actor named Robert Ryan who was big in the 50s and 60s.... while he sometimes played the hero, he was often cast as the bad guy. His specialty was violent bigots, in such films as “Crossfire “, “Bad Day at Black Rock”, and “Odds Against Tomorrow “.... yet in real life Ryan was a highly educated, very liberal activist, who many who worked with him said was one of the kindest and gentlest men they ever met....
It’s all acting

JJ Hunsecker- no, not me, but the character I took my name from, the devious columnist and TV star played by the brilliant Burt Lancaster in the classic film “Sweet Smell of Success “

Odd Job

And you are probably too young to know this, but that actor parodied the role in some commercials for cough syrup, where because of his coughing he kept destroying his house until his wife gave him the syrup

As far as James Bond is concerned , my favorite villain is Scaramanga.

Jaws is another great villain and a quintessential member of the Bond universe.

But he often works for other guys and he´s quite brutish , so I see him more as a hired muscle than a proper villain but hey, he´s still kind of a villain and great ! lol

Yeah, he was good too, but you can't go wrong with Christopher Lee, can you? I liked that movie, but nu that time the Bond movies were becoming a bit of a self parody. Maybe that's another reason why I'm not very fond of Arnie's character.

I just watched that one again a couple of weeks ago. I have this habit of rewatching old sci-fi flics and Twilight Zone episodes on warm summer evenings. lol

Also watched The Omega Man again, Logan´s Run, Silent Running and Buck Rogers....but Buck Rogers hasn´t really aged well.

Some great villains listed here so far. Kurrgan (Highlander) Anton Chigurh (No Country...) and Max Cady (Cape Fear) are among my favourites.

To add to that list, I'd nominate Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator (Terminator), Robert Patrick's T-1000 (Terminator 2) and Rutger Hauer's Roy Batty (Blade Runner).

And of course, probably the best villain of all time, Nurse Ratched (One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest).

Honourable mention, for Bennett from Commando, Jack Nicholson's Joker, Gene Hackman's Lex Luther and Alan Rickman's Hans Gruber.

Another one I forgot to mention, Kingpin from the Netflix Daredevil show. Easily the MCU's best villain to date.

I haven´t even watched a single episode yet but I really liked Kingpin in the 1980-1990s comic books, he was one of my favorite villains and I´ve seen a few scenes of that Netflix show and I think Vincent D´Onofrio did a great job. At first I even found it hard to believe that it´s really Vincent D´Onofrio. He´s developed into a really versatile actor over the years and looks nothing like he did in his early acting years. So drastically different from how he was in Full Metal Jacket or Law and Order.

.

.

Now I feel like watching the Daredevil show. wink

There´s too many TV shows these days, hard to know where to start.

Daredevil is really good. That and Jessica Jones are my favourite live action superhero shows. But Daredevil is especially good. I'd recommend all the Marvel Netflix shows. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and even Iron Fist. And then the crossover show, The Defenders, is really good too. Plus, it's got Sigourney Weaver as the villain so you can't go wrong. But if you only watch one, make it Daredevil. They're all technically part of the MCU (frequent mentions of the alien attack in The Avengers and a picture of Abomination from The Incredible Hulk movie are as deep as the connection goes though). But there's rumours that Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio are set to reprise their roles in separate upcoming Marvel projects.
