For some reason I suddenly felt nostalgic about the good old days of the late 00s on the org. It was fucking mayhem on here back then.

Who's left? How have you been? What have I missed? What's changed?

I'm still here. Been on the org for years, but with another name before my current one. There are still some good things about this site, like info on Prince and other musicians, books other's are reading, things like that, but I find it so full of hate and racism the past 5-6 years. I mostly blame Trump and all his followers for this. Sure, there are other reasons too, but that asshole hasn't done the world one bit of good, including this site and the type of people that post on it, especially in the P&R section. Having said that, there are some good people on this site who come here to share their love of Prince, music and other positive things in our world.

The way people interact on the org has definitely changed. On the last nostalgia thread we talked about how much fun it was to make plans to meet other orgers in person during org invasions or generally while on holiday. (Like when I met you, Dave!) I can't see orgers today making any effort to do that. People here are still polite for the most part, but they are nowhere near as friendly.

tbh, i had my first post in years lined up, giving you some sort of easter egg hunt of Prince song titles i sneakily incorporated in an article me & fellow Melmakians wrote some time ago. Just haven't taken the time.

I'm nostalgic for the org of the early 2000's when the OG celebrations were going on, and thats how I met up with hotel roommies for the last one in 2002.
