Cam's going to have to settle with being a backup if he still wants to play.

Yup. He's probably the best back up QB out there.

Possible destinations;

Patriots cut Cam Newton: ...ng top ...

This is make or break year for our QB Daniel Jones. Unfortunately, he's hampered by the dumbass GM. Gettleman's always yapping about "hog-mollies", so the number 1 priority during the off-season should have been the offensive line. They're mediocre at best with very little depth. Not addressing the o-line in the draft was inexcusable.

In other words a chance for Jones to go to a more competitive team.

The Giants have been clueless ever since they won the SB in 2011-12. Jerry Reese did a poor job building an o-line around Eli in the last years of his career. Gettleman came in and set the franchise back by holding on to Eli for too long and trying to rebuild and win at the same time (whether he was told to do it by Mara no one knows). Like Reese, he's done a poor job with the o-line.

Player, broadcaster Tunch Ilkin, 63

Player, broadcaster Tunch Ilkin, 63

Mr. Ilkin played for the Steelers for 13 years (1980-92) and for a 14th season with the Green Bay Packers in 1993. A two-time Pro Bowl selection as an offensive tackle (1988-89), Mr. Ilkin also served as vice president of the NFL Players Association from 1989-94 during which time ownership and the union crafted and ratified the Collective Bargaining Agreement that tied free agency to a salary cap, a system still in place today and copied by the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League.

Voted to the Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team in 2007 as part of the franchise's 75th Season celebration, and to the Steelers Hall of Honor as part of the Class of 2021, Mr. Ilkin loved football and played it with distinction starting in high school, then in college, and then as a professional.

But over the course of his life, Mr. Ilkin showed himself to be a better man than he was a football player.

Diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease) in September 2020, Mr. Ilkin died on Saturday, Sept. 4. He was 63.

Steelers agree to trade for Witherspoon

The Steelers roster continued to evolve after the team agreed to a trade with the Seattle Seahawks for cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, pending a physical. The Steelers will send the Seahawks their 5th round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Witherspoon signed with the Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent during the 2021 offseason, after spending the previous four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.

Witherspoon was drafted by the 49ers in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the 66th selection overall.

Never knew this dude was Randall Cunningham's older brother until he died.
I was a kid when he played. I used to love when NBC televised the AFC matchups.
Colts vs Patriots used to be a good AFC East matchup. Sam Bam vs Lydell Mitchell of the Colts.
