I definitely prefer SNF over Grease...but Grease had its charm too.

I saw the PG version of SNF back in the day...I was probably 8 or 9. I had no idea there was an R rated version until years later and man I was totally shocked. Drugs, abuse, gang-rapes (poor Annette), suicide...that movie is DARK. But I loved it even more...and this when disco was OUT.

Staying Alive is a guilty pleasure of mine...I was so in love with Travolta and he is so hot in that movie drool. Grease 2 was awful.

Yeah, it's kind of amazing that such a dark film re-ignited a dying musical trend. "Moment By Moment" was the film that almost stalled his film status, but luckily "Urban Cowboy" was a big hit.

Robert Stigwood and Paramount originally wanted "Staying Alive" to come out in 1980 (with a much darker script and storyline)

I bet that this would have been much more interesting than the actual sequel that came out in 1983.

'Grease 2' was awful lol They shouldn't have even bothered. This time, the songs were really dumb.Notice that none of those songs became hits or got alot of radio airplay. What a fiasco.

I didn't really like 'Stayin' Alive',either....but it could be because I just think that the late-70s disco era was EVERYTHING and nothing else compares to that era lol I have an obvious bias, lol.

Feel bad for the actors, they must have been excited to be in Grease 2 to sing some great new songs. They are force to sing songs about going bowling nuts

And don't even get me started about the Reproduction song barf

I know, right? lol those songs are poorly written and just plain stupid.

one of the things that made the first ‘Grease’ so great is the high quality songs.

There was almost another "Grease" movie in 1998. All of the characters (from the first film) were going to reunite at a class reunion set in 1978. Now that would have been interesting! smile

yeah,I remember hearing about those plans.I wonder how that would have turned out.

I also recall, around 2000 or so,there was talk of a Grease remake starring Britney Spears and N'Sync eek I'm so happy that it never happened, lol.

the latest I heard is that they want to do a "prequel" to Grease that focuses only on Danny and Sandy hanging out at the beach all summer confuse

At this point no need for a sequel/prequel, that ship has sailed. If they do it will be crap

I agree. Just leave the classics alone. Glad that 2000 film never happened...It probably would have been as bad as that "Kelly Clarkson Loves Justin" movie.....I remember reading in the NY Post (around 2005 or 06) that Simon Cowell supposedly bought the rights to "SNF" and was going to do a remake starring Zac Efron...glad that never happened.....Zac was in a movie called "We Are Your Friends" about an electronica DJ that was pretty much the "SNF" storyline...Again. just leave the classics alone.

Eventually everything will be remade. West Side Story was perfect as is, but Spielberg remade it.
