And you don't like that Kubrick changed anything from the book, but you forgive Doctor Sleep for bringing Danny back to a hotel which no longer exists in the book. It burned down, remember?

Thankfully the director of Doctor Sleep recognized the greatness of Kubrick's film. He somehow managed to make a sequel that honored both King's DS and Kubrick's vision.

Of course, Doctor Sleep would never have been made without a star as grownup Danny, but it would have been interesting to see the original actor in the role. (He does have a cameo in the film.)
