And you don't like that Kubrick changed anything from the book, but you forgive Doctor Sleep for bringing Danny back to a hotel which no longer exists in the book. It burned down, remember?

Thankfully the director of Doctor Sleep recognized the greatness of Kubrick's film. He somehow managed to make a sequel that honored both King's DS and Kubrick's vision.

Of course, Doctor Sleep would never have been made without a star as grownup Danny, but it would have been interesting to see the original actor in the role. (He does have a cameo in the film.)

That's entirely untrue. I'm faulting Kubrick for getting the way of a great story and what could've been a great movie. He was the modern day Hitchcock, torturing his actors for his own ego. I'm just not impressed with him as a filmmaker. Especially in this case.

Tell the truth. You couldn't stay awake for King's faithful adaptation.

It was ... exhaustive.
