RIP - Clarence Williams III, ‘The Mod Squad’ and ‘Purple Rain’ Star, Dies at 81 Clarence Williams III, an actor known for portraying Linc Hayes on “The Mod Squad” and Prince’s father in “Purple Rain,” died on June 4. He was 81.

I was drawn to Purple Rain because of Prince, but when I saw it as a 14 year old, it was Clarance's performance that really haunted me. I'd not come across him before, but his performance was so good that he gave me the chills when I saw him in other things after. . |

I liked him in "52 pick up". He has a few scenes with Vanity in it too but besides purple rain,my all time favorite role of Clarence Williams III is his role in the 1998 comedy " Half Baked"

Purple Rain is an amazing film because P's mom and dad never seem to give him eye contact. Hope Clarence and Prince can patch things up in heaven. The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days... | |
