Quotes from TELEVISION you still use

tv

You know movies are usually more broadly referenced,
but are there any moments in T E L E V I S I O N you still like to quote?

My siblings and I used to quote from Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and there is still one that comes up.

Please underline the television programme title with your quote.

Will scares Carlton while he is driving from the back seat with a Freddy Krugar mask, then asks...

Will to Carlton:
WHAT'CHA EA' ' IN' ?

We use so many quotes from Friends and Will & Grace. I didn't realize it until we, years ago, were watching the first couple of seasons of both and I said, "Damn, we're so unoriginal!" haha

One of my favorites is a Karen line: "I can tell by your inflection that you think what you're saying is funny.... but no."

"I would've been here sooner, but I didn't care."

One of my favorites is a Karen too. "Honey, you're simple, you're shallow and you're a common whore. That's why we're soulmates."

I kinda wish they'd never have rebooted the show. It fell apart after 3 years and felt rushed, like a prank almost. I'd have been happy with the little political thing they did.

I fully blame Debra Messing for it falling apart. She blew up her marriage, blew up Smash, and got overly jealous that Karen and Jack were getting bigger or better storylines (in her opinion) and laughs than Will and Grace. "The show is Will and Grace, not Jack and Karen," she allegedly said to someone.

A lot of the heat was put on Meghan Mullalley, but reading further into things, I don't believe that to be true. I think they were separated, and that MM took a couple of weeks off. But maybe it's because she punched back at DM about her bullshit on set. When MM unfriended folks on Instagram or whatever, I think she did it just to kinda let herself reset a bit, detach.

It was so tragic the way it fell apart, after all the hubbub and attention. There is an outtake in the last episode where MM messes up a line or something, everyone's sorta laughing, etc. She looks at the audience and says, "What are they gonna do, fire me?" DM laughed, but it just felt fake.

There was a scene with Grace & Karen talking about being a godmother or something. They had a fight. I watched it and felt the full brunt of their hatred for each other. It was so glaringly obvious in that moment, and was juxtaposed against their former chemistry in previous seasons the first time around.

Let's face it, DM has never had much of a career after W&G, and was only moderately known with Ned and Stacey. MM and hubby are kind of a team effort at this point, Sean Hayes produces a lot of stuff (like Grimm), and Eric is doing whatever Eric does. But DM will always just be the girl who played Grace and fucked up an entire series because of her selfishness and lack of emotional maturity.

I never watched this seiries but I'm familiar cast and characters, do you think they should do a Jack & Karen spin off?

No. They're not a couple. They're friends, which is fine, and the characters have a lot of close ties. But what made the show work was the balance of everyone together. You'd have to pull in another male and female with similar personalities to Will and Grace to balance Jack and Karen. Besides, Meghan Mullalley is never going to play Karen Walker again. I'm not even sure Sean Hayes, at this point, would be down for it. Everyone's story was tied off at the end (again), so what's done is done.
