RIP Gavin MacLeod

The actor was known for his roles as Joseph "Happy" Haines on McHale's Navy, Murray Slaughter on Mary Tyler Moore, and Captain Merrill Stubing on The Love Boat. He was also an author and Christian activist, appearing as hosts of their own show on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) for 17 years.

He was in the air force, and graduated Ithica College in New York state with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. He was married three times, twice to his second wife who he divorced for three years before remarrying her. He had four children.

Love Boat was one of my favorite shows in the 70's. Cool theme song too.

The Love Boat was a staple for me as a kid in the 70s and 80s. He was also a very memorable guest star on a lot of my favorite sitcoms like The Munsters, Gomer Pyle USMC, Hogan's Heroes and The Andy Griffith Show.
