Not sure if I can help.

What on your phone are you trying to mirror?

My Phillips tv, Its not new new, but it's a smart tv.
With my phone (Samsung) I can use "smart view" and it will find the tv, just l Iike bluetooth does. I connect and mirror my phone. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes its a bit laggy when playing a movie. Mostly delayed actions

I also have a google chrome. Hook it up to the tv via HDMI and I can
screencast movies, music and some apps that use Screencast like Netflix YouTube

Edit my tv is not 4k

I just want to cast my phone to TV so I can watch videos from it.
I do not see a cast or smart view or screen mirroring option on my LG phone
I might have to upgrade to Samsung phone soon

When I've mirrored my screen on the tv sometimes there is a time delayed action, like when I view pictures , or freeze on a video. Sometimes it works fine.

You might to try a Google Chrome. I believe they run around $30/35.
Hooks up to tv via hdmi and needs an *internet connection
Install the Google app.
Then down the VLC media player from the play store.
You will be able to screen cast your videos and music files to your tv. And it usually works perfectly for me

I've only ever cast YouTube to my tv from my phone. No cord needed. There is usually a little square in the upper right hand corner of the YouTube app that you press and voila!
