Too funny.

This hit me really hard. In 2020, my brother-in-law, my uncle and my dad died. (None of COVID, but still.) I lost a job I'd had (and loved) for over 20 years in the COVID-related business downturn. Every theatre company shut down, so what I usually would have used to get me through the other suckage wasn't there.

Today, a company I've been interviewing for asked me for references (which means an offer is imminent). I have a final interview with a second company tomorrow. And I've been fully vaccinated for a month.

The corner has been turned - and I am just barely holding it together right now.

Sorry for your losses, that must have been really hard. Hope the new job works out for you

Thanks - I appreciate it.

I'm going to see my mom next week (first time since my dad passed in December). I was there about this time last May and lost my job the week I got home. I'd love to get at least one offer while I'm there. It'd be a nice end to the suckiest year of my life.

I appreciate the kind wishes. They've called both my references, who sang my praises as loud as they could. Really hoping to have an offer soon.

The place I'm working now just posted the permanent version of the job I've been doing as an LTE (limited term employee) since September. They lowered the qualifications and changed who the position reports to. I really, really, REALLY don't want to apply for this thing. (And after what's gone on the last eight months, I doubt I'd get it anyway. I'm pretty sure the disdain is mutual.) C'mon new job!
