Three prequels to The Game of Thrones??

I mean I really enjoyed the series but do we have that much desire for 3 different spinoffs.

HBO reportedly developing three more Game of Thrones prequels as new details emerge
Tyler Aquilina

HBO is eyeing a major expansion of its Game of Thrones kingdom.

Multiple outlets reported Thursday that the network is developing three prequel projects set in George R.R. Martin's sprawling fantasy world, in addition to those already rumored or announced. Deadline first reported the news.

Representatives for HBO declined to comment.

One of the prospective series — the furthest along in development, according to Deadline — is titled 9 Voyages and would focus on Corlys Velaryon, also known as the Sea Snake, who was hailed as the greatest seafarer in the history of the Seven Kingdoms. (Steve Toussaint was recently cast as the character in House of the Dragon, the only Thrones prequel series currently greenlit.) The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller, who was previously reported to be pitching Thrones spin-off ideas to HBO, is said to be developing 9 Voyages.

Another project is set about 1,000 years before the events of Game of Thrones and would follow Princess Nymeria, an ancestor of House Martell who conquered and ruled Dorne. The last is set in Flea Bottom, the King's Landing slum featured in the original series, where the poorest residents of the Westeros capital reside.

Well I'll dip my toe with the upcoming House of the Dragon. They've already casted but I don't see a trailer so it must be a ways off. It's supposed to be 300 years prior to GoT. The dragons were supposed to be bigger per the books. I wonder how that'll look. I think RR has lost me with any of the books though, he's not completely his series it appears. Oh well he's living good now I'm sure.

It just takes them so long to put anything out, so long that it will probably be 2024 before we see it. LOL

Hard to say. You'd think if the have the full cast and directors, writers it'll be soon but I know that isn't so.

Had the final season not left such an awful taste in my mouth I might be interested. I know HBO will invest a ton to get these off the ground with quality casts. But the stench from the last season still lingers.

I'll put the bad ending on not having a solid book to work from. I think any prequels have been full fleshed out but it's worth checking on that.

Legitimate point.

I'm more upset about the book series. I invested so much time and will never know how it truly ended. I hear he's working on a GoT stage play now. *grumble*
