Any plans for valentine’s day?

Any plans for valentine’s day both single or with your significant other?

I'll be 31 in April and I haven't been single on Valentine's Day since I was 14. And yet, I have never made plans for Valentine's Day. The whole thing always seemed so strange to me.

No special plans. My husband and I have been married for 32 years and we have rarely celebrated Valentine's day. We did when we were much younger, but we soon realized it's just a money grab. We go all out for our anniversary each year (gifts, dinner out, etc..), but this Sunday I'll be making a meatloaf with mashed potatoes and we will watch the Raptors game. smile

Is Valetine's Day not that popular in Ireland?

It is. Just not with me.

Never could get into it either.

I don’t take it seriously, but felt a little lonely by the end of the day cause my family are in relationships and I’m not. I don’t mind being single but I’m worried about ending up alone later on in life. I ordered some valentine’s themed mindfulness activities to do and it sort of helped

The way I look at it is if my husband isn't going to show me how much he loves me every other day of the year then I don't want to hear it on the 14th of February. As it happens, he does, so Valentine's Day is just another day. Having said that, this year I received two Valentine's cards. One was from my 1 year old son, which my husband bought and wrote because my son is only 1. The other was from my daughter, which she made out of an A4 size piece of paper and a shitload of stickers.

I can understand that
