Not quite.I was told by someone living abroad that if she was back home she would set me up with one of her friends. So I guess it meant I was boyfriend material lol. She had a boyfriend at the time so I was not trying anything but she was a cool person.

I know a lot of times people get all up in arms about this friend zone nonsense. Just take what she said as a very good compliment. It meant you were practical and helpful. It sounds like you would not be adverse to something developing with this "hot acquaintance" So I hope for the best for you.

I am thinking about reaching out to someone I knew years ago, but have not seen for ages, so I feel your pain, and things never get simpler despite experience.

I mean who knows, it could have just been a random thing she said (it was definitely not a proposal lol), and had nothing behind it. If you like her, ask her out or ask her out and see what happens. At worse asking her out is a compliment, and if she turns you out perhaps she stays an acquaintance.

It sounds like you have put some thought into this, and I think that means you are considerate, if not weary of laying your heart on the line. Whatever you do don't think it is embarrassing if she says no. It is your burden to ask her out and it is her burden to accept or turn you down, so best of luck, and just remember if you are looking for love or a relationship (beyond a fun time) it is a huge ask for someone to undertake,

My perspective: Some women like bad boys who keep them guessing and off-balance. I often think

those women, (myself included) suffered from inconsistencies @ home & thought it was normal.

Unfortunately Prince was one of those... However he knew women liked clean, stylish, nice-smelling men with a plan.

I think most or many women are attracted to nice men with a backbone and some degree of success.

Success is variable.

You and your friend are likely both right. The only way to know for sure is to ask her out if that's what you want to do (which I get the sense you want to do) and see what she says. If she says yes, great. If not, keep it pushing and have no regrets. She can be a friend you check in on or have drinks with once every blue moon or so, or you can just become friends. It's all good.
