Disney+ Pixar's SOUL, released Christmas day

Let's talk about it. Have you streamed it yet? We thought it was brilliant. Peak Pixar stuff front to back.

A few notes:

First movie without John Ratzenburger's voice. This is false. He's one of the voices that turns down the main character while in the Hall Of You. Heard, but not seen.

Directed by Pete Docter, of Monsters, Inc., Up, and Inside Out.

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross scored.

Jon Batiste supervised the music.

Jamie Foxx, Angela Bassett, Questlove, Tina Fey, Daveed Diggs, Phylicia Rashad, Graham Norton, and others star.

I think Pixar's animation gets better with every movie. This is no exception.

By the way, the Pizza Planet truck and A113 are in the Hall of Everything. In the same short sequence, a soul is interacting with the Luxor lamp, and the Pixar ball is seen in another shot.

I loved it. It was funny, moving and the soundtrack was great. Plus, Pizza Rat was in it. I just wish I could have watched it on the big screen, because visually it's stunning. biggrin I give it a 4.5 of 5 popcorn

All the kids in Toy Story resembled Andy because humans were difficult to animate. Compare this with humans today.

Pizza Rat was hysterical.

Easter egg spoiler:

The Pizza Planet truck and A-113 are in the Hall of Everything. The truck is in yellow to the left, and A-113 is a street sign just under the ferris wheel. You can also see a soul interacting with the Luxor lamp in another scene. The Luxor ball is also in the hall in a smaller vignette.

One shot in there is a replica of the Partners statue of Walt & Mickey. It's in the Dr. Borgensson’s Hall of You.

Also, right around the time he lays on the subway vent, he passes a travel agency. It talks about Fly Luca Airlines. Luca is their next movie, summer 2021.

2319 is on the subway train (when Morris Chestnut is singing for the performer in the subway). 2319 is the emergency code when the other world comes into the Monsters Inc factory.

BRANG is advertised in a subway car. Brang was the company Riley's dad worked for in Inside Out.

The name tags on the wall holds Aretha Franklin, Harriet Tubman, Marvin Gaye, George Orwell, Harvey Milk, Marie Antoinette, Van Gogh, Ali, Johnny Cash, Picasso, Einstein, Amelia Earhart, Stephen Hawking, Joan of Arc, Steve Jobs, Ghandi, Michael Jackson, Prince Rogers Nelson. Prince is right near Aretha & Ali.
