Sinbad recovering from stroke

More behind the source link.

Stand-up comedian Sinbad is recovering from a recent stroke, his family told Variety in a statement on Monday morning.

“It is out of sincere love that we share Sinbad, our beloved husband and father, is recovering from a recent stroke,” his family said in a statement. “Sinbad is a light source of love and joy for many generations. While he is beginning his road to recovery, we are faithful and optimistic that he will bring laughter into our hearts soon. Our family thanks you in advance for your love and support and ask for continued prayers for his healing. We also ask that you please respect our privacy during this time.’ Thank you.”

The 64-year-old comedian, whose real name is David Adkins, rose to fame with several HBO comedy specials in the early 1990s. He starred in “The Sinbad Show” on Fox from 1993-1994 and played Coach Walter Oakes on “A Different World,” a spin-off of “The Cosby Show” that ran on NBC from 1987 to 1993 for six seasons. The show also starred Lisa Bonet, Marisa Tomei, Jada Pinkett Smith, Dawn Lewis and Jasmine Guy throughout its run.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Worried there haven't been any further updates. Must've been a serious one.

In reality, they don't owe everyone a daily update, nor is there necessarily anything that needs to be updated on a daily or weekly basis. It's a private issue. People want to maintain their dignity during a healing and recovery process. No updates doesn't equate to a slide down.

Well forgive me for showing an ounce of concern. Why bother posting if it's none of anybody's business and nobody's owed anything? There's a reason I found sudden silence unusual.

You don't have to get up in your feelings about it. MY POINT is that just because there wasn't any updates doesn't automatically mean it was "a serious one." (I mean, all strokes are serious, obviously.)

It means they don't have to update any of us, and that maybe, just maybe, he's recovering in private, and that it's just that simple. For now.

Time will tell.

Given that he has been very active with touring and on social media. The complete silence is unnerving. That is highly unusual for a celebrity that's recovering well.

I wonder, too. The silence is deafening.

Remember him from the time he interviewed Prince, that Moesha episode with the gorilla arms and those Jane Seymour movies with the funny creatures. sad

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!
