At least hopefully it's moving the show mostly as-is... Alot of these entertainers get the fat streaming contract and suddenly decide to reinvent the wheel, start changing sets/outfits/formats.... if it ain't broke...

Anyway CBS or whoever sold her 30-year whatever exact number library of tapes for like 10 bucks or something, there was an article, that's why she said eff that and jumped ship.

THIS. The title is still misleading. Judge Judy as we know it, as a show, is over this season, probably in May or so. The show will be syndicated to IMDB tv.

She'll spearhead a new show of some sort on Amazon's IMDBtv after that at some point.

So JUDY is moving to streaming across the board, but the show called Judge Judy isn't being moved (as in it's still in production but changing hands like One Day At a Time or Arrested Development or The Mindy Project). It'll be like every other show that ends up on streaming once it's over.

Judith Sheindlin will present new opportunities for viewers on streaming as her next project.

I'm curious to see what she does next. These court shows are actually arbitrations, not actual civil cases as you'd normally see them in small claims court. There must be scouts in my town because there are quite often people from this immediately area on there. I'd like to see her sit down at a table and be a mediator or arbitrator for two sets of people working different type of things out between them, opposed to an arbitration disguised as an actual small claims court.

I always found it funny that her intro shows NY, but she tapes in California. I think her and Joe Brown used to share the same studio. Their filming scedules are like 3 days a week (every other day), every other week. So she basically works 6 days a month, when in production. In those off times of a full week, they'd film Judge Joe Brown's show. I'm not sure if they tore her set down every time, or if the sound stage held both sets. (Depends on size, etc.) It was later used for that show Paternity Court.

Amy Schumer was once in the audience, unacknowledged by the judge or Byrd, and it was only after that people on social media started to post about it, and Schumer acknowledged it was her. She sat just to the left of the defendant, as to be seen in almost every shot of the defendant.

Judge Wapner, of The People's Court, really disliked her. Of course, he had zero sense of personality or humor. Judy shot back a couple of times in the press and left it at that. Wapner is dead now.




Footnote about Brown: Ike Turner was on his show once, as a defendant, I think.

Judy Justice sounds fun. I'm excited to stream the new show on Amazon. She seems excited about it, which is a good thing.
