Giannis got paid....now Knicks fans can stop fantasizing about him coming to NYC;

https://bleacherreport.co...rted-2282m

I hate that the Knicks are bad, NY and the league both deserve better, but I wouldn't wish that fate on Giannis.

Look no further than James Dolan, one of, if not THE worst owner in pro sports. Since he took over in 1999, the Knicks have had 14 head coaches, 7 GMs/team presidents, one playoff series win, and the worst overall record in the NBA over the past 20 seasons. He's a POS human being, a rich man's son/spoiled brat who throws out paying customers who yell at him to sell the team. Unfortunately, he won't sell, because the Knicks are a cash cow - the richest franchise in the league worth $4.6 billion, according to Forbes.

In other words, we're FUCKED. We have a new group running the front office, but I'm not expecting much.

How about the Brooklyn Nets? Maybe I'm being naive thinking you would transfer allegiance as they are a NY team?

I only know about them b'cuz Durant transferred there. (Warrior fan, here)They will play the Warriors soon (I'm afraid to watch)

Interesting to read your comments about him. He's difficult to understand, though a great player.

The Nets are going to be a team to reckon with this season, no doubt about that. I just saw that Giannis has signed a mega deal extension with the Bucks. Not sure how I feel about that. I'm thinking he might've been better to go with another team. Oh well, we'll see what happens now and if he can finally get them to a championship. Season starts next week. Can't wait! 🏀

Nope, been a Knicks fan for nearly 50 years...not going to be a bandwagoner who jumps ship to the next "hot" team (like these frauds in NYC wearing Lakers or Warriors apparel). Haven't rooted for the Nets since their ABA days when they had Doc.

'Burner Account' Durant is a great player, but he'll always be a bitch for joining a stacked GS team after his Thunder had them down 3-1 the year before and choked it away. This is the same clown who criticized LeBron for 'championship hopping' in 2010. Total bitch ass.

If I'm Brooklyn or Miami, NO FUCKING WAY do I trade my young players plus draft picks for James Harden, especially after reading this.

Report: Russell Westbrook 'appalled' by Rockets team culture, which revolves around James Harden;

ALL great players are divas (Magic complained about Paul Westhead's style.....exit Westhead, enter Pat Riley). They all get perks and power....that's ok as long as they don't abuse it. Shit, Jordan was gambling in Atlantic City during a playoff series with the Knicks...but he took care of business on the court.

Not sure what to expect this season. Without the bubble from last season, I don't see them pulling it off as there are already cases of COVID within the league and team members out participating in events they should not be. I also noted that the Raptors, GS, Lakers and Bucks have aleady lost their first games. Not a good sign, but let's see what happens.

A legend. He doesn't get enough credit as a coach, imo.

Not after that disaster last night.

Anyone see the video of Steph Curry hitting ONE HUNDRED FIVE straight 3's over five minutes? I've seen my share of great shooters the past 40+ years of following the NBA (Jerry West, Rick Barry, Pistol Pete, Alex English, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, George Gervin, Chris Mullin, etc.)... NONE of them hold a candle to Steph. In this case, "latest is greatest".

Knicks are 2-2. The fact that Randle (and the whole team) is playing smarter basketball is a tribute to how good of a coach Thibs is (and how bad Fizdale was).

A quote from the article below - “There is a mentality shift,’’ said one NBA executive who has spoken to the Knicks’ brass. “Thibs wants to win every game and he’s selling that to the players and they are buying into it so far.’’

I know when I was watching the Sixers Knicks game last week I kept saying the Knicks coach looked familiar with his mask on. It kept eating at me and I had to google who he was. I had forgotten the Knicks hired him. You're right coaching makes a difference. I can see the difference coaching has made with Philly already this season. Doc Rivers is definitely better than Brett Brown.

But you worry about Doc's coaching come playoff time.

R.I.P. Paul Westphal

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/306 ... ies-age-70

Had an incredible playoff run in 1976 when Phoenix shocked the defending champion Warriors in seven games, then lost the finals to Boston in six. That triple-OT Game 5 thriller is still one of the best I've ever seen.

Wow. Had read he had been ill for sometimes. Great player. Great coach. That triple OT thriller you

speak of is the first ever NBA game I can remember watching as a kid. Soon after that I started watching some dude named Julius Erving and I became a Philadelphia 76ers fan. Paul had a great run as the Phoenix Suns coach too.

Sorry to see this. He had a good legacy as a coach and player. As a coach, he had one of the best teams to not win a title, the 1993 Suns.

Warriors beat the Clippers after being down 22 points. Curry is carrying the team until they can jell.

Does not seem sustainable. Curry will break down or get injured is my prediction. Hope I'm wrong.

Someone has to step up and take Klay's role so Steph doesn't have to carry the load.
