Actually it was a little better than I expected. I enjoyed watching Michelle Yeoh, Henry Golding and Emilia Clarke flexing their comedic muscles. Novel Christmas movie featuring the music of George Michael, with a refreshingly diverse cast.



New Year's Eve (2011)

It was what it was -- a Love Actually carbon copy with a flashy cast.

Kuso (2017)

Had I read this explanation of what this word means, I may have not even wasted my time with this movie. "Kuso is a term used in East Asia for the internet culture that generally includes all types of camp and parody. It is also used to describe outrageous matters and objects of poor quality."

I think I heard about this movie here and the preview got me to watch it.

Not familiar with Steven Ellison (aka Flying Lotus) but now I am. While this movie was several stories in one movie, the vignettes in between just make it one long bizarre movie that was hard to follow and physically watch at points. I enjoyed some of the aspects but it just felt very disjointed and not very well thought out.

If Mr Lotus keeps working in film then I'm sure he'll get better but this ambitious effort just fell a little short for me. Crazy, weird, trippy and gross but not cohesive enough to keep my attention.

Director Luca Guadagnino may have reached for too much in differentiating his reimagining from the original film, but there is so much here that I love from the Volk dance performance, to the Thom Yorke score to the bonkers finale. 4.5/5

I loved this film up until the revelation which for me was over the top and really became a mess after that.

I really enjoy this Queen Latifah movie...

I love how it's understory is about immigrants while it's top story is about her finding herself. And then Santa and Boy, so cute. I've been watching this over and over since June. Emilia is adorable.

Daenerys it's really adorable, just as long as she is not on mad queen mode.

I finally got around to seeing this movie. It was a reminder how extreme the racism was (and is) in the deep South, especially when fueled by the apparently threatening act of a Black man having relations with a White Woman. The acting was really good: Michael B. Jordan gave his usual excellent performance but the real revelation to me was how good Jamie Foxx was.

In 1962 Hong Kong, neighboring married apartment-dwellers Mr. Chow and Mrs. Chan discover that their spouses are having an affair. The two spend time together and find they have much in common, but vow never to behave like their unfaithful mates.

Maggie Cheung enchants and Tony Leung Chui Wai continues to amaze in this Wong Kar-Wai gem. Both wildly stylish and surprisingly subdued. I really liked it.

High praise coming from the both of you. I need to watch it again; my ratings are all relative to the films I consider the greatest. I love Wong's work, especially 2046.

It presented a very good overview of the club's lifespan and the people behind it. Although I would have been happy if the documentary was just footage of the decadence and people watching inside the club. 4/5

I want to see this... Watching the fictional movie made me want to see a doc about the real thing.

Queen & Slim - 3.25 stars out of 4 . Enjoyable movie. Surprisingly, the love stands out to me more than the black lives matter theme, which has been done better elsewhere.

Probably quite underrated for a horror movie sequel. It may lack originality for some, based on the
quintessential elements such as 'the old woman medium' who for some reason doesn't scream
"Step Into The Light!", damsels in distress, likeable if kooky pair of paranormal investigators,
typical jump scares and a monster-witch character who likes to troll unsuspecting folk by
possessing their bodies and making them do evil things.

Bad Santa (2003)

If most Christmas movies go overboard on the schmaltz, Terry Zwi\\goff's contemporary Christmas classic turns ghe grime up to 11. And I'm here for it because of the payoff. Billy Bob Thornton and Tony Cox are one of the best duos in decades.

I thought the first one was funny; the sequel was awful and not funny at all.
