one scientist today said it could go pandemic and effect 1 Billion people by next year!

I tried to sit and do the math, but it did my head in.He could be right though.

what do you think?

TRON

Well, I made it to Toronto and back without getting it, so I passed phase one.

Hopefully, they'll figure out better ways to treat it before it gets that serious. pray

A French laboratory has isolated the virus ... that's a good start to find a cure...

Anyway I think there is something very smelly under this plague... Like you know chemical tests...

Call me crazy I don't mind but I think SARs is part of a mysterious conspiracy. I won't disclose my information but I think it has to do with population control.

I live in downtown Toronto, and if it weren't for the endless news stories about it, you wouldn't know we had anyone here with SARS. The subway is slightly more empty, and the highways move about 2 km/h faster, so SARS can't be that bad.

But really, 150 "probably" have it out of about 5 million people who live here. I'm not going to worry. And I'm not a baby or an old man, so it probably wouldn't kill me anyway.

Being in quarantine for 10 days wouldn't be fun though...

Like West Nile and Aids...I believe you. SARS could decimate the human population.

it only takes 1 out of those 150 (or somebody they've missed) to board a bus or train and effect dozens more though.

i get a train everyday that originates at Manchester internatonal airport, so it is on my mind.

If we die, we die, que sera que sera. It's just Motherfucker Nature giving mankind a little slap on the ass. There's no sense in stressing over this. Just go about your life and live it up. We could all die any day.

Is it better to spend your days in fear and misery, or to enjoy every day like it's your last. I like to stay on the positive side of things. I don't fear SARS, terrorist attacks, slipping on dog shit, etc. If it happens, it happens, that's life. Gotta live it up.

I'm equally worried about catching influenza. People die of that too, and there are far more varieties of it. The flu season has been much longer this year with flu's that last two or three weeks! That worries me more. Infants and children can die from these severe flu's too, and about half of Torontonians have had at least one flu this winter and spring. It doesn't look like the flu shot this year immunized against these flu's, so where did they come from and why weren't we expecting them this year? So much for the flu shot...

If SARS only lasts up to 10 days, then it's a breeze compared to the 3 weeks I was sick.

I wasn't worried about it till my boyfriend had all the signs of it for the last 4 days.. The doctor says right now it is highly unlikely that he could get it. There is a 1% chance that he could have it.. But it wound up being Broncitis.. It was a sign of relief..

SARS is carried through the atmosphere. Let's just hope is doesn't mutate like the AIDS virus has done these past few years.

Just as the Canadian I speak with says...

Sure, they'll talk it up about the people in Toronto who got it and died, but not the hundred and some that have it, or got it, and lived right through it.

It'll be alright. shrug
