I don't believe in any of that stuff. Gods, fairies, ghosts and the like. Knowing what we know now from a scientific point of view, it's just not possible for these things to exist.

It's all a combination of misinterpretation, the attitude that "if I can't explain it then it's inexplicable", and good old-fashioned bollocks.

OK... not sure if this is a ghost story - but it's true. After my dad suddenly passed I moved in to take care of my ailing mom, who passed 5 months later. I collected a week's worth of mail from my own house and sat at the kitchen table to go through it but could not find my dad's prized letter opener - this was a small knife with a round blade he'd had since he came back from WWII - he got it in Germany. I looked everywhere for it - but it was gone. I asked my brother, the caregiver, my siser-in-law - no one had seen it since before my dad passed.

On the evening after my mom's burial we returned to the house. My brother was standing in the kitchen opening mail with THE KNIFE. My sis-in-law and I both asked him where he found it - he looked at us and said it was right where dad always kept it, in the pencil holder. He thought we'd found it and put it back. Nope. My brother said, "I guess Dad brought it back."

Hey, again, thanks to all who posted their experiences. There's a lot of people who don't believe in the possibility that "ghost" might exist. So, thanks for putting yourselves out there.

Anyways, i decided to post some of the more interesting paranormal experiences that people claim to have had. About 3 years ago i posted this first one. it's pretty interesting, so I'll post it again. it's about a kid and his dead mother. it's worth a watch. it's called Haunted Highway.

Don't believe in ghosts or fairies but I do believe in ghost and fairy stories.

I definitely saw a ghost as a child, which i'll happily chalk up to a childish imagination + a very rural house sending a tiny brain into overdrive, but damn, that experience was real.

My mom died when I was 7. When I was 8, my sister and I moved in with my aunt and uncle (my mom's sister and her husband). When I was around 10, I went into what we would call the "red room" (a formal living room with red carpet, curtains, and red velvet decorations on the end tables/coffee table). I saw my mom standing there, holding out her hand towards me. She looked exactly as I remembered her and was wearing the dress she was buried in. But it scared me and I ran out of the room, crying. My aunt asked me what was wrong and I told her that I'd seen my mom. I described what she was wearing, including a brooch she had on her dress. When I described the brooch, my aunt's face went white. She went into her room and came out, carrying something. It was the brooch I'd described. She said that it had been their mother's and my mom had wanted to be buried with it, but my aunt couldn't part with it, so she had put a different brooch on my mom's dress. She was crying when she told me and I remember her saying, "I should have buried it with her like she wanted."

I've got other stories, from other family members. My mom's oldest sister had studied witchcraft for a time. They had a Ouji board and some of the things they told me... wow.

[Edited 10/4/20 20:31pm]

Benni, thank you for your post. My mother died a little over 7 years ago and sometimes i wish i could have got some kind of sign that she somehow lived on.

in hindsight, are you glad that you had that experience?

As for what you said about your mom's sister and Ouija boards, wow. My mom's oldest sister(less than 2 years older than my mom, my grandmother had like 9 kids, basically one after another eek ) had a real negative experence with a Ouija board.

[Edited 10/5/20 18:26pm]

In hindsight, no. I would rather she be at peace, but her death was a result of violence (which caused her to get numerous clots that broke off and went to her heart and lungs).

My aunt had 10 kids, but one died as an infant and she adopted the youngest, one set of twins, the rest were single births. I remember one experience that had resulted in them moving out of the house and leaving almost everything behind. My roller skates were in their basement and they wouldn't let me go down there to get them. I was really angry about that. (What happened as a result of the Ouji had apparently happened in the basement and they locked that door, refusing to let anyone go down there.)

Ouji Boards should not be used by people who do not know what they are doing, it can attract evil spirits. Sylvia Browne talked about that in her books and when she was on The Montel Williams Show. He is a Cancer Sun Sign, Libra and Cancer signs get along well. I always watch the episode clips of The Montel Williams Show on YouTube. There are some clips that Sylvia is telling people about their haunted house, ghosts and psychic children.

Ouji Boards should not be used by anybody. One of the main problems is that people don't close the session correctly. Getting rid of an Ouji Board, never ever burn it, you just open a gate way. Don't throw them away. Why??? Some one else might find it and use it. In some cases people reported the Ouiji board to reappear after they threw it away. Best thing to do is to bury it.

My mother grew up in Brazil, she and her parents(Born in Poland) lived in Brazil until 1960. She saw spirits/ghosts when she was a kid in Brazil, Sao Paulo. She passed away seven years ago, she was in her mid 70's. She would have been 82 this year.

Sorry for your loss. My mom passed away last year, she would have been 80 this year. Months up to her death many of my relatives that have died visited me in my dreams. My Uncle (my Mom's brother) died this year. He came to me in a dream last month and told me everything was good and was with family and friends now touched

i should have gave a better description of the episode that i linked. it's about a mother's love for her child, that possibly transcended death. it's a sad story but also hopeful as well.

So, here's a couple trippy "ghost" photos. it's unfortunate that there's a lot of fakes out there now. People doing shit for scares and likes. There are some "ghost" photos that so far haven't been debunked yet. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are real though.

This one was taken at a abandoned house(tore down now) out in the woods. The photo looks like one of the women who used to lived at the house(2 sisters, both are long deceased.) i don't think it's been debunked yet.

Also, when u do a reverse search for this photo, google show's it as the "pink lady ghost at stirling castle", but that's not accurate. it was taken in the USA, by some man named Guy something( i forgot hs last name). He was on one of those older ghost shows. Not one like Ghost Adventures or Ghost Hunters though .

This next one is strange. There's not a lot of info on it. Someone pointed out that it looks like Diana Ross, so idk. it could be fake. it always creeped me out though, so that's why i posted it.

There were actually two different occasions where I played around with a Ouiji board. The first time was when I was about 14. The second time was only about 2 years ago with a friend of mine who is a magician. She's into all that occult nonsense. She knows none of it is real but knowing how Ouiji boards work helps her in her act. It's all just the power of suggestion. Same way psychics are able to con gullible people into believing they're talking with the dead, which, incidently, she can also do. But she doesn't. Because, like me, she thinks those psychics are scummy bastards for making money off of people's grief. It's all bollocks. Ghosts, psychics, angels, demons, gods, fairies and ouija boards. All of it. Pure bollocks.

Mind you, I don't particularly judge people for believing in it. My friend, who is American herself just in case you think this is some anti-American thing, pointed out that there is a far greater percentage of people who believe in the supernatural in America than in most other "enlightened" countries. There are a few theories as to why that is but I just think it's a cultural thing. Different cultures, different beliefs. Which is why there are more ghost and UFO sightings in America than anywhere else. The people WANT to see that stuff so their minds trick them into believing that they do. There's all sorts of studies done on that kind of thing. Interesting reading for believers and non-believers alike.

I love the idea of ghosts and the paranormal as I've been in to horror fiction and scary movies since I was a kid. I really enjoy hearing about people's experiences with the unexplained and possible photos of ghosts (thanks for sharing JoeyC, especially this time of year).

As for actually believing though ... I'm in no way religious, and I'm quite a scpetical sort of person, so no, I don't actually believe. If there is a smidge of belief in me for this sort of thing I suspect its driven entirely from my love of the "genre" as it were.

Apportation: When the spirit world dramatically manipulates a physical object here on earth. Things seem to materialize out of nowhere or to disapear(papers, pictures, keys, coins, jewelry, etc).

A Channel: Someone who receives spirit communication by going into an altered state of consciousness, usually a meditation or trance and allows the spirit to literally speak through them. It never happens without a channeler's awareness
or permission. They have the ability to heal people also! God guides them!

Morphic Resonance:

Is a relative of cell-memory and dejavu. It occurs when the spirit mind finds itself in a place so familiar(from a past life)that it experiences almost total recall. A person can find their way around with no help from guides. There will be a sense of homesickness too.

Telepathy: The direct passing of information, knowledge, feelings from one person or entity to another without using any of the "five" usual senses - to any subconscious "receiver".

-Sylvia Browne.

I always took notes when I read her books! Good thing that I have Virgo Rising and Mars in Gemini! 😁

Well the U.S does have a lot of Paranormal TV shows for sure. When it comes to Psychics Mediums going around the country and doing shows I don't believe them at all . They do a lot of fishing and do cues. I believe there is a small percentage of people with the ability to see the dead and most don't go looking for attention. I think that just about every culture on the planet has some belief in some kind of an after life. I'm sure there are a lot of people in Europe believe in ghosts and UFO's because we are sseing a lot of footage coming from Europe showing ghosts and UFO's. But seeing is believing, and I have seen a few things so far which cause me to change my train of thought.

Mediums: Receive spirit communication and pass it along by simply repeating the messages in their own voices.

Shamans: Heal through the nature around them.

Alchemists: Use herbal and other natural formula to "heal" and reveal "divine information".

Familiar smells: A spirit will send a scent that is familiar to a person to let them know that they are around.

Life Themes: There are 47 themes. A spirit chooses a life theme before they are born, write their chart with God.

Some are: Activator, caretaker, builder, cause fighter, controller, experiencer, harmony, healer, humanitarian, intellectual, irritant, leader, loner, performer, aesthetic(music, drama, painting, writing, creativity).

The Psychics: Those who have this theme usually are raised in a strict religious family. They are often told to ignore/stop using their psychic ability.

Life Themes: Are the courses of learning. Sometimes a person's theme will fit well with those of others, and with some people, there will be conflict.

Each of us has bits and pieces of several themes because many of us lived more than one life. Different categories can get along with almost any other because "we will learn something" to help our souls to perfect.

Anyone ever been able to predict things accurately?

I've had several experiences in which weird things have happened.

First instance, I was around 11 years old, woke up one morning and my aunt had called us all into a room and said she had some "bad news". I said, "Grandma died." She asked me how I knew that and I just shrugged and told her that I woke up the night before, middle of the night, and that was the thought in my head, that grandma had died.

In my teen years, I would get those feelings a lot. I had ran away from home and went to stay with a friend. His mom had said I could stay with them. One day I woke up and told him I had a feeling I was going to be arrested that day as a run away. He told me I was crazy because no one knew where I was at. (I had left a bad family situation and we were afraid of them sending me back.) The feeling persisted all day. He finally told me that we would just go out that night and stay out and not come back until the early hours of the morning, which we did. We got home around 2:00 AM, and I had went to my room and was getting ready for bed when he knocked on my door. He had such a sad look on his face and said, "There's someone here to see you." When I went downstairs, it was the police.
My aunt had gotten her phone bill and saw where I had called my friend and his mom, and gave that number to the police and they were able to figure out where she lived. I was over 300 miles from home.

My friend's mom became my foster mother after that and one day I woke up with this feeling that something terrible had happened to my sister. This went on for 2 weeks. My foster mom finally agreed to let me call home to check on my sister and a cousin answered the phone. She asked me if I had heard about Rhonda (a cousin that was my sister's age, that I called little sis). I hadn't, of course, being that far from home and she told me that they had Rhonda's funeral that day. She was 11 years old and had been kidnapped and murdered. The day I got my bad feeling the first time was the day she had been kidnapped. I dropped the phone and ran out of the room crying. He must have talked with my cousin because he came in the room after that and wanted to know if I was possessed or something, because I kept knowing things I couldn't know. After Rhonda, I didn't want it any more. I didn't want to know things. If I couldn't fix anything when I got those feelings, then I didn't want those feelings.

About 11 years ago, a friend asked me to give him the name to a song to listen to, I suddenly just had the feeling that his girlfriend was pregnant, even though no one had said anything, and I told him "Little Green" by Joni Mitchell "Born with the moon in Cancer, Choose her a name she'll answer to". About a month later they announced they were having a baby and that it was a girl.

And the last one, was more recently, 2015/2016. I had been emailing dreams to a friend, and told him about one in October of 2015, in which I had dreamed Prince died, but that he had faked his death and he was fine. Then in December, I had another dream that something terrible was going to happen to Prince, something we wouldn't be able to fix, and that we needed to protect because he was trusting people he shouldn't be trusting. The feeling was one of extreme panic, that it was going to be really really bad. Then in April, on the 17th, my friend mentioned about how Prince had dedicated his P&M shows to his dad, was talking about the past more, and he wondered why and I just blurted out, "He's thinking about releasing this mortal coil." When my friend and I spoke next time, I told him that I take it back. And he told me I couldn't, that I had said it, that I knew it, and that even if I could take it back it wouldn't change anything. I'm back to not wanting to know things.

My mother had prophetic dreams. She would have dreams with some celebs. In the mid 90's she had a few dreams about Prince, in one of the dreams she said he was
ill;that could mean he needed to see a doctor or a spiritualist to cleanse his environment from "negative energy". I had a few dreams about him too, talking about things.

My mother also would know when a friend or family member would get pregnant, needed to see a doctor, etc.

A few weeks before my brother John died, my mother had a scary dream about John and that she was trying to protect him.

Before my brother died, he told me, my sister and mother that an Angel was talking to him, he died a few days later. He was only 35. In his 20's he was diagnosed with having Hodgkins Disease.

Regarding your brother: I used to work as a hospice social worker. There were many times when people who were in the process of crossing over that would start talking to relatives that had passed, or would say they saw an angel. One older gentleman that I'll never forgot, was getting aggravated. He told us he just couldn't get any peace and quiet with all the kids running in and out of the house. There was no one else there, but he kept seeing kids, laughing, playing, running through the house and he'd point to them and say, "Don't you see them?? Tell them to go outside and play and leave me to sleep for awhile." As far as we knew, he had no other family and we never learned who the kids were that running in and out of the house. Another lady started crying because her mom was sitting beside her bed and holding her hand. She kept saying, "I never thought I would see you again." Her mom died when she was a little girl and as far as we could tell, her mom didn't leave her side while she was passing.
