We Are Who We Are (HBO) star star star and one half out of 4 (so far).

This is currently unspooling at HBO, which has show 4 episodes so far. It is so different from everything else that i have seen, that I got impatient to wait till the series ended to rate it. I was curious if anyone else saw it, If you haven't and you like your cinema to have a more classic European/Italian feel to it, I would check this out. The first episode is a bit slow, but each episode so far gets progressively better.

Well, I finished the rest of the season and really can't believe how good it was. Definitely 4 stars out of 4. The long nonverbal sequences are not for everyone, but for me they worked really well. Just loved the friendship of the two characters pictured above, and the way the series explored the interplay of adolescence, gender identity, sexual orientation identity, and lust play out in unpredictable ways. I loved the ending, and as the final credits started they played The Love We Make by Prince, one of my favorites. Just perfect!!!

Wish we had HBO, but maybe we can otherwise access before too long. If you don’t mind my asking, did you watch with other family members or view solo?

What a great show. Haven’t seen it in years. Should look into re-watching. Love when it’s been so long that the jokes and plot twists can again surprise. At least in my case. Guess that’s one benefit to having a less than stellar memory. : )

Hey rednblue. I watched with my partner. I think my D would have really liked it, as she it the attack dog against the bullies of the LBGT+ community at her school. There is some stuff in the series that might have been hard as a parent to watch with her due to sexual content and drug use. Perhaps HBO will have one of it's occasional free weeks. I'll org note you if I hear of it.

Industry 3/5 only 1 episode in. On 1st watch I was annoyed but after a second watch I got a better prospective. I'm actually pretty thrilled to see where this goes.
Welcome to Pierpoint, London's most pre-eminent financial institution. Five recent university graduates, Harper Stern, Yasmin Kara-Hanani, Robert Spearing, Gus Sackey and Hari Dhar, all aim to make their mark on the world by proving their worth and becoming permanent hires at the bank. But for one of them, it all proves to be too much.

The Mandalorian | Seasons 1-2 (2019-2020)

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away creates a series that mashes up the original trilogy and old shows like The Lone Ranger and Kung Fu. Pedro Pascal is great in the show, and Baby Yoda is indeed a scene-stealer. Numerous cameos come from a flurry of stars, many of which are hilarious. And of course, Giancarlo Esposito is brilliant as the big bad.

Dave Filoni, who ran the brilliant animated Clone Wars and Rebels series, and Jon Favreau are proving that they are the ones to move the franchise forward onscreen. They are weaving animated content into the new episodes seamlessly and I can't wait to see them bring more of the great animated characters to live TV. Of course, it is somewhat predictable, as all Star Wars content has been after The Empire Strikes Back, but it's a great watch for Star Wars fans and casual watchers alike.

The Good Lord Bird. Well it started out amusing. But I think in this current climate it's take on historical characters isn't desired and after a while you wondering why John is running around with basically a little "girl", who is really a boy in a dress. Obviously it's a narrative device and it does show the Brown gang were good true people, still after the 4th episode you're side eyeing it for a lot of reasons. It slows down to a dragging annoying pace by the 6th episode. I do like Ethan Hawke as John Brown. So I guess a 2.5/5

Based on the award-winning novel by author James McBride, "The Good Lord Bird" is told from the perspective of Henry "Little Onion" Shackleford, a newly freed teenager who joins abolitionist John Brown on a holy crusade to end slavery.

Just marathoned Schitt's Creek. A+!

Edit: by the way, the level at which POP TV went to promote the final season, and gave no fucks was pretty incredible. This was one of the main billboards up and down Sunset Blvd in L.A., and other areas.

Season 1: 3.5 stars of 4. While I settled on this show as something I could watch with my partner (we have different tastes), it really grew on me. There are laugh out loud moments in each episode. While I thought the tall girl looked too old to be in 7th grade and thought the other girl had too much comedic talent to be that young, I was stunned to learned that they are both 33 years old and have been best friends since childhood. They wrote the show to reflect some of their experiences together. This explained their great chemistry. If you do sample the show, I would try more than just the first episode.

Season 1 is a genre-bending must-watch that expertly melds horror and racial commentary. Great to see black characters in such roles.

Archer Season 11 (2020)

After several season of one-offs, one of my fave TV shows is back in the real world, with the lead character out of a years-long coma, and it's back in stride.

Archer season 11 is brilliant. It may be one of the best seasons yet in terms of the writing being a balance of sharp wit and emotional depth ( specifically Archer and Lana’s daughter and that whole relationship). This season was a pleasant surprise

I always understood that these actors in their 30s playing their middle-school selves was part of the joke--that it made the awkward experiences of growing up look even more awkward and funny.

Babylon Berlin - Season 1

There are many characters to follow, but the script, acting and visuals are all top-notch. And please watch it in its proper German language and not dubbed in English. 4.5/5

Deutschland 83

This was my third time watching this and I've come to like it more than The Americans which is already an excellent show, but this one does the cold war spy theme a little better. 5/5

Deutschland 86

The locations for this second season move away from Germany for the first few episodes which takes away a little from a reason why I liked the first season, Deutschland 83, so much. This series remains however, an excellent mix of drama, suspense and humor and I look forward to watching the final season, Deutschland 89, sometime after the holiday. 4.5/5

The Undoing (2020) I really enjoyed this melodramatic murder mystery, and the performances were great. However, the real star was Nicole Kidman's wardrobe, it was simply amazing nod , especially her coat game (my favs was a tie between the red velvet coat with the belt tie and the green alligator coat) worship I give this a 4.5 out of 5 popcorn

The Crown - Season 4 (3.5 stars out of 4).

I have enjoyed the entire series, but season 4 had a bit more spice with the Charles-Diana and the Queen-Margaret Thatcher storylines. I imagine more people are watching it to see the Princess Di storyline, but I actually thought the Queen - Thatcher storyline was equally conpelling with better acting.
