all things Walking Dead...

the ending of the Walking Dead series, Fear the Walking Dead continuation, the World Beyond 10 ep series and the Rick Grimes movie, novels

https://screenrant.com/wa...I7cBCT4JXQ

Walking Dead Theory: World Beyond's Secret Story Is Finding Rick's Group

To set up the movies, it's possible that Walking Dead: World Beyond will end with the main characters coming across Rick's group in Virginia.

It’s possible that the story of Walking Dead: World Beyond will involve the main characters journeying to Alexandria to find Rick’s group. The point of such a meeting would be to set up the Walking Dead movies with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).

Three movies centered on the original protagonist were announced immediately after the season 9 episode that featured Rick’s highly publicized exit from The Walking Dead. At the end of the episode, Rick was prepared to make a heroic sacrifice and blow up a bridge to stop a horde of zombies from reaching the communities. Just when it appeared that Rick’s story in the Walking Dead universe had arrived at a tragic end, his wounded body was discovered by Jadis (Pollyanne McIntosh), who contacted the people in the mysterious black helicopter. After receiving his position, they picked up Rick and took him away to an undisclosed location. In the show’s timeline, it’s now been six years since Rick’s disappearance.

Walking Dead Theory: How ...rld Beyond

The Walking Dead season 10 provided another Rick Grimes tease by having Michonne (Danai Gurira) find a clue that suggested Rick is still out there somewhere. Other than Michonne and Judith (Cailey Fleming), no one in the main cast is aware that Rick survived what happened on the bridge that day. However, they could finally learn the truth – as well as Rick’s whereabouts – if they encounter the World Beyond’s protagonists. Here’s why World Beyond could include a secret story that leads them straight to Alexandria, and what it would mean for the future.

I do feel like the main show has gone on too long now ... as good as the acting and production still is (and has always been) they're repackaging the same ideas over and over now, with the villain of the season just a slightly different version of the Governor.

Having said that I still think there's plenty of mileage in the TWD world to tell other stories. And I'm of course going to stick with it just to (hopefully) see the Daryl and Rick reunion biggrin

Last month I started watching it from the beginning.

The crew that ended up @ Alexandria, I miss.
I just watched scene where Darryl says to Rick that the Georgia crew was what together looked like.
Once they started getting killed off and then seperated by township, that's when it fell off. But I'm still watching. The direction FTWD is taken I like

I´ve missed out on many episodes because I stopped watching during the midseason finale of season 10 because I was very busy, so I have a lot of catching up to do.

While I still like TWD, I kind of miss the original cast of FTWD and I miss the atmosphere of FTWD´s first seasons.

It was nice to see different locations such as California and Mexico, and how the zombie apocalypse started.

When the original cast was killed off, FTWD looked too similar to TWD. I still like both shows but I think they could´ve done things differently.

I´m curious about the Rick Grimes movies. One movie sounds realistic, but come on, three movies that are based on a TV show? I´m not sure if that´s commercially feasible and I doubt that many people would watch it, even if the movies turn out to be good.

Most folks I know aren´t really interested in either show anymore.

I really should start watching the episodes I haven´t watched yet. wink

'Fear The Walking Dead' unveils first-look photos for season six

The first episode of the new season lands in October

By Will Richards

10th August 2020

AMC have shared a first look at the upcoming sixth season of Fear The Walking Dead.

The new edition of the Walking Dead spin-off will air in October.

Ahead of the October 11 episode one premiere, the show's Instagram account has now shared a host of photos from the new season, which you can see below.

Included in the pictures is an image of the show's star Lennie James behind the camera, hinting that he will step into the director's chair for an episode or more during the season.

Director of photography Andrew Strahorn said: "Each character has their own perspective with regards to the way they saw their involvement within the world and within each other's lives [as well as] the dynamic between the relationships good and bad."

Strahorn also teased an "evolution" in the new season's storylines. "There's a heavier cloud that sits over people's heads," he said, adding that there is "definitely a progression of not only subject matter but tone. It's a lot more, I would say, to the forefront with the sense of loss and people choosing sides and where they stand going forward in this new world."

The first trailer for season six was released back in April, and hinted that Morgan may just still be alive. Speaking to NME earlier this year, Lennie James, who plays Morgan, spoke of the character's fate.

"He is a survivor, but in this universe, as it's been proven over and over again on both The Walking Dead and Fear..., anybody's time can be called," James said.

"There have been a number of characters that people have said 'oh, that character can't die, they'll be there forever' and then they've gone. Rick and Carl are good examples of that. Nothing's guaranteed, but maybe Morgan's time is up — maybe it isn't. Hopefully we'll get to see the new season of Fear... and see how that plays out."

I still enjoy the show, but I really wish they would move on from the constant feuds and wars with other groups. It’s played out.I’m tired of these stupid “villains” that they keep creating.Enough is enough.

I stopped watching ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ a long time ago.I have no idea what they’re trying to do with those characters and I just lost interest.

As for the Rick Grimes movies....is it really gonna happen? hmmm they’ve been “planning” it for awhile now but somehow I doubt that it will happen.More likely,Rick will just return to TWD...or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part? biggrin

I wish Alexandria sorta remained as it was when the Georgia crew came. With Deanna and her husband. But Ricks crew exposing them to the realities. Without Alexandria falling.
.

Yeah, now the Wisperers were kinda scary for a bit. Interesting group. But I wish it was a short thing and they moved on.
I think when the Rick Grimes actor left, that changed things for direction.

.

I really liked the FTWD part with them on the Yat, I wish that kind of 'living' continued.
I do like this new group with Morgan though. I like the aspect of them recording stories for the future.

.

World Beyond seems interesting. There is a WD novel situated in Asia thats good.
But it would be cool to end WD with Rick returning and him Michone, Carol, Darryl, Maggie reunited and just show a vision of the world they created thriving.

I gave up with FTWD after a couple of seasons as the characters weren't doing much for me ... might try and get back in to it.

There was an argument that TWD should have stopped when they got to Alexandria as that was a great group of people, who deseved some peace. No way AMC were stopping it there though, too much money to be made biggrin

... plus we'd have gotten no Negan if they'd ahve ended it there, and as drawn out as TWD has become he's still the best villain in the entire comic by a long chalk, so it would have been a bummer not to see him on screen. Plus JDM has been the best thing in TWD since he came in to it, he's been the perfect Negan.

I assumed they were going to be streamed / Netflix style movies, rather than cinema releases ... so more like feature length episodes ... in which case I can see it working for sure.

I don't know, I mean the show is different from the comics, and the novels tell a story more like the Comics not the show etc I think it could end and all kinds of stories still be told (alternate stories)

I fell off with FTWD as well after the 2nd season, and it was just all over the place. The addition of the Native group was cool and them absorbing the Mexican lady.

But the last 2 season are different and better. Morgan is there and Dwight and his wife are heading there(or already there for the last season)

Lauren Cohan: Why She Rea...lking Dead

By RICK GONZALES | 18 HOURS AGO

Lauren Cohan

When actress Lauren Cohan took on the role of Maggie Greene/Rhee in AMC’s The Walking Dead, she became an icon. For eight years Cohan WAS Maggie. And then suddenly she vanished from the show.

Fans were left flatfooted, wondering what had happened. Now, though, after a mysterious absence Lauren Cohan is returning to The Walking Dead. Here’s what happened: How she ended up on The Walking Dead, why she suddenly left, and why she’s back now.

LAUREN COHAN ON THE WALKING DEAD

The Walking Dead

Lauren Cohan knew that when she was cast for the role of Maggie Greene in The Walking Dead (TWD) that it would be a big one. Any fan of the comic knew that too, so the actress had a lot to live up to.

Of course, there were many differences between the comic book character and the TV series character, much of it revolving around how the storylines played out. In the comic, Maggie was the second daughter of seven to Herschel, her father. In the series, she was the eldest to her sister Beth. The TV storylines from there only resemble the comics as more of a blueprint as the series writers made many changes, some that truly enraged fans of the comics. But Maggie had a relationship with Glenn in both the series and comics and Glenn’s fate is ultimately the same in both.

Maggie

Lauren Cohan first appeared as Maggie in season two of The Walking Dead. She was surviving on a family farm with her father Herschel and sister Beth, while hiding a brutal secret in their barn. It was during this season where Maggie and Glenn began to forge their relationship. The two go into town to look for supplies as well as a pregnancy test for Lori, Rick Grimes wife. But Lori makes Glenn swear to secrecy, so when he is caught by Maggie, he instead grabs a box of condoms as a cover. Maggie sees it as an opportunity as she then seduces Glenn. They end up having sex, starting their ultimately tragic relationship.

During her years as Maggie, she was forced to play each and every emotion. From tough to timid, funny to quite serious, Lauren Cohan took her role and shaped it. She became an integral part of the cast, a main player in an ensemble that could see main characters leave at just about any time, especially in their big season finales.

Lauren CohanLauren Cohan as Maggie

Such was the case when Glenn took the brunt of Negan’s Lucille. In what was the most heartbreaking and violent scene in the series, a series known for its gratuitous violent nature, Cohan’s Maggie had to watch as Negan beat Glenn’s head into a pulp with his trusty baseball bat. It’s a scene that will forever be burned into every TWD fan’s memory with Cohan’s ability to reach the emotional depths she had to in her reaction to the brutal beating were simply wrenching.

WHY LAUREN COHAN LEFT THE WALKING DEAD

Lauren Cohan

Lauren Cohan chose to jump to something called Whiskey Cavalier. It was her chance to be a true lead in a TV series. A chance to leave her Maggie behind. A chance to find some light and fun instead of dread and fear. So, she took the chance. After eight years playing Maggie, Lauren Cohan decided it was time to move on. But why?

First and foremost, Cohan’s contract was up with the series. She entered into negotiations and things did not go as planned, on both sides. Lauren explained to EW her thought process during contract talks, “I kind of felt in some ways surprised, to be honest with you. And I took that, how baffled I was, and thought, “Okay, well that’s a sign. This is maybe just not a fit anymore.” To feel like we weren’t lining up in so many ways I just thought, “Okay, well, maybe that means something.” But in my personal life, as well as in my career, I always end up being really appreciative of things exactly as they turned out. Because as an actor and as an artist, you’re bringing your sensitivity to your job, but I need to be able to flip the switch and just look at this in a professional way. I felt like in order to be my own guardian angel I had to put on a business head to protect the personal side of me.”

Lauren CohanLauren Cohan on Whiskey Cavalier

Things did not work out so Cohan took her ball and went home, so to speak. Whiskey Cavalier was brought to her and she made the move. Maybe it was financial, maybe it was just simply growing a bit tired of playing the same role for eight years. More than likely it was a bit of both. But jump Lauren Cohan did and she gave it a good run. Fans, unfortunately, weren’t having any of it and Whiskey Cavalier lasted but one season.

THE RETURN OF MAGGIE

TWD

Maggie is back on The Walking Dead. “It’s completely surreal,” Cohan said at the New York Comic-Con. “It feels just like home. It feels so emotional. It feels really, really emotional. I feel like this is a very special Comic-Con and a very special family and I’m really happy to be here.”

Fans were delighted. AMC is delighted. The cast is delighted. Most importantly, Lauren Cohan is delighted. She told fans in a Q & A on the AMC website, “I’m so excited to surprise the fans. I know we left Maggie Rhee up in the air and I can’t wait to bring this to them. I’ve always been a big fan of surprises. My family lives between England and America, so my whole life is about how to make an elaborate plan and not spoil it. [Laughs] I’m really happy. Angela [Kang], Scott [M. Gimple] and I have been talking about how we could make this work and everything just aligned. I’m super excited to see what this next chapter of Maggie will be.”

It was season 9, episode 5 that we last saw Lauren Cohan as Maggie. This was also the episode fans last saw Rick Grimes. Her departure was a quiet one with not much fanfare or explanation. We found out eventually that Maggie had left Hilltop to join another (Georgie’s) group. As her character was thankfully not killed off, it meant the opportunity for a Lauren Cohan return was still in place. Yes, folks, Maggie is back. Watch for Lauren Cohan on the next season of The Walking Dead.

Thanks for sharing OldFriends, an interesting read.

I'm guessing the contract negotiations with AMC that didn't go the way Cohen wanted were about pay. I wish actors wouldn't be so coy about this sort of thing and just say it as it is.

'The Walking Dead' is coming to an end

CNN)---A decision has been made to kill "The Walking Dead" flagship series, but the universe will live on.

AMC announced on Wednesday that it is bringing the series to an end. The show is set to conclude after an expanded 24-episode eleventh season that will air over two years.
It it expected that the series will end in 2022.
Loyal viewers of the show won't have to mourn the end too long, though.
AMC said it has greelit a currently untitled spin-off starring Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, who play Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier. That show is set to premiere in 2023 with current "Walking Dead" showrunner Angela Kang at the helm. Kang co-created the show with Scott M. a Daryl and Carol spin-off? hmmm

I think a better idea would be to bring Rick back.....keep Maggie,Daryl and Carol....and make a show focused on just those four.No villians. No wars.Just four friends trying to survive.

I'm glad they're finally wrapping up the show ... it needs to end before it really does end up a shadow of its former self (I know some folk think it already has)

But as for announcing now that Daryl and Carol are getting they're own spin-off ... what a dumbass move! That means we now watch the final season knowing they will be safe to the end. Way to piss away a chunk of your story tension. Why not announce that as the season ends?

I'm not sure that it makes sense to cancel The Walking Dead while keeping all these spin-offs going hmmm Fear The Walking Dead is a complete bore.Maybe they'll try to rejuvenate it by adding Maggie to the cast? I don't have much hope for the other new spin-off,The World Beyond and those Rick Grimes movies seem unlikely to happen.

Fear the Walking Dead Star Had "No Idea" the Show Was Killing Off Madison Clark

By Cameron Bonomolo - September 6, 2020 09:05 pm EDT

=

The Walking Dead actor Briana Venskus shares a guts-covered sneak peek from the Season 10 finale, "A Certain Doom," where Carol (Melissa McBride) and Beatrice (Venskus) of Oceanside must infiltrate the massive walker horde unleashed by Beta (Ryan Hurst). In this final battle of the Whisperer War, refugees from the Alexandria, Hilltop, and Oceanside communities are under siege inside a hospital tower surrounded by Beta's miles-wide walker army. Carol and Beatrice — along with Daryl (Norman Reedus), Kelly (Angel Theory), Luke (Dan Fogler), and Jules (Alex Sgambati) from Oceanside — camouflage themselves in zombie's guts and wade into the horde commanded by Beta, hell-bent on revenge after the death of Alpha (Samantha Morton).

"In this particular instance, our people, we know that they know how to move within the herd. We've seen it since Season 1 Episode 2 ['Guts'] when they put the walker guts on themselves. But they've never had to maneuver within a herd that has human beings in it, as well," the episode's director, Greg Nicotero, said during Comic-Con@Home. "So the whole challenge for them trying to figure out how they're going to get out of the situation is they can't just be as stealthy as they usually are because there's actually people, there's Whisperers in and among the herd of walkers."

The threat of disguised humans inside the horde "ups the stakes quite a bit," added Nicotero, who previously teased the season finale's jaw-dropping surprise ending.

I thought she was going to reappear. Someone said in a comic that she does like a 'Governor more like Deanna from Alexandria'
