'Matrix' sequels To Be Reloaded in IMAX Format! Toronto-based Imax has signed a deal with Warner Bros. to release the forthcoming The Matrix Reloaded and next fall's The Matrix Revolutions on giant IMAX screens in North America at the same time they will be running in conventional theaters. The films will be digitally-remastered using Imax's DMR technology, which had previously been used to convert Ron Howard's Apollo 13 and George Lucas' Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones to the Imax giant-screen format. The first Matrix sequel is expected to open in Imax theaters about two to three weeks after its general release on May 15. The Matrix Revolutions is expected to open in Imax and conventional theaters simultaneously on Nov. 5. In a statement, Imax said that "the simultaneous release of first-run Hollywood event films in its theaters is the holy grail for the company, and it's something investors have been anxiously anticipating for some time."
I hope nobody finds this offensive and has it deleted...

YES! At the same time, too! Attack of the Clones was a little later on, so I had to see it later than everyone else.
Dude, I am so hyped! There's an IMAX theater only a few miles away! I'm going the first night! Oh shit, my hat done fell off

And for the person who's about to ask... "What's the big deal about IMAX?"
Virtual Tour of the Boein...in Seattle. Systems Description: State of the art, 400 seat IMAX 3-D theater with an 84' x 62' (that's 84 by 62 feet) screen. Not sure how that compares with the rest of the IMAX theaters, but um... I'll take a movie screen that is five stories high over some cramped p.o.s. cineplex theater any day.
