All team alegiances aside, I am very impressed with how the NBA set up this bubble and that we can enjoy the games. They have had 0 reports of covid cases among the players. It's a covid-19 success story, really.

So far, they have done a fantastic job . I hope it continues this way and into the next season. |

Plenty of blame to go around in LA's Game 1 loss to Portland....they can't shoot for shit. But Anthony Davis has got to be better than this. He settled too much....mfer, get in that paint, go to work, get fouls on these guys and get to the foul line.
IMO, Davis has to be the best player on the court. Charles Barkley doesn't think AD has that "dog" in him.
“I still think it’s going to come down to Anthony Davis,” he said on the Lakers’ chances against the Los Angeles Clippers in the playoffs. “And I don’t know if he’s got that dog in him.”
Barkley continued by breaking down what he thinks Davis lacks as a leader on the team.
“You need to have a guy who say, ‘Hey, I’m just gonna kill y’all, ain’t nothing y’all can do about it. If y’all don’t double me I’m going to go crazy. If ya’ll double me, we going to get wide-open threes.’ Anthony Davis has not proven to me that he can be that guy.”

In this year's unique playoffs, it's more wide open with no home court advantage. |

Makes you wonder just how much the fans and the energy in an arena can influence performance

You do have a point, but I'm finding that I don't miss the fans at all. Truthfully, I'm lucky to attend one game per year as it's so outrageously expensive, so no fans in the stadium is working just fine for me. I guess it could be effecting some players. |

Totally expensive
But when you go to a game, the energy is contagious and the fans can really bolster that in a team. Some players feed off of the fan energy and frenzy

And that energy can affect the refs too...we always hear about the home team getting more calls.
The thing I miss is seeing how these cats would perform in a hostile environment. Kareem, Magic, Larry, Jordan...etc....the truly great players get it done no matter where they play.
I don't care what anyone says, Game 2 is a MUST-WIN for the Lakers. Blazers aren't afraid of them.
Luka Doncic is a BAD MAN. He and Porzingis will be a scary duo for years to come. [Edited 8/20/20 8:47am] |

t amazes me that the Knicks, THE basketbull team of one of the Top3 cities of the USA, can sink this low...
It shouldn't amaze you - over the past 20 years, James Dolan has been the worst owner in professional sports. Since 2002, the Knicks have the worst regular season record in the NBA.....one playoff series win, 8 general managers, @ 12(or more) coaches....the laughing stock of the league. Yet they're a cash cow, one of the richest franchises in sports, because dumbass fans keep filling the Garden no matter how much Dolan shits on them. |

Siakam has to be the best player on the court for Toronto against a tough Boston team.
Can't wait for the match-up between Siakam and Tatum....that's must-see TV!

That game yesterday between the Clippers and Mavs was awesome. I was so happy for Doncic and the Mavs for pulling off that win. Doncic is a beast! I'n hoping they beat the Clippers in this round. I want Kawai to regret his decision - . The Raps/Boston series is going to be tough for both teams and Lowry needs to be there too. Everyone has to step it up if we want to beat Boston. |

But Siakam has high expectations. I consider him on the verge of being a superstar. He can make a name for himself if he does what Kawhi did last year....."I'm taking over this game, and can't a damn thing you can do to stop me!" That 'Mamba Mentality' Kobe, Magic, Kareem, Jordan, Bird, Hakeem, Isiah, etc. had.
I like the coaching match-ups too. |
