Starting to think that college football fans better find other ways to fill their Saturdays.

The Big Ten just cancelled the football season.

The Pac-12 may follow suit.

and if they do, itll be like when they tried to play through the labor strike, with a bunch of replacement players..as much as i LOVE watching and playing sports, i just wish ALL organized sports would shut down...some of these traveling idiots are just helping to spread the germs all over the Earth

we know how GREEDY the nfl is.

let's see if they will be SMART enough to either cancel the 2020 regular season

or at least POSTPONE it until "spring 2021"..

I have no doubt the nfl will do anything & everything to have the 2020 season

regardless of the risks to players, fans, or nfl staff.

I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

It's an amazing story of recovery. WFT just hired their first (and the NFL's only) black president of operations. Are these signs of positive change and integrity-building within the Washington franchise, or fool's gold?

I wonder why there aren't more myself. hmm

In any event, what a difference a year makes. The Washington franchise has replaced its racist name and homogenous leadership with a homogenous name and racially diverse leadership (a black exec at the top, and a Latino head coach).

I guess we could expand the Rooney rule to apply not only to coaching postions but to on-field postions as well

This might answer your question;

https://www.sportscasting.com/are-there-any-asian-football-players-in-the-nfl/

http://latinalista.com/columns/blogbeat-columns/why-arent-there-more-latino-nfl-players

As for the Rooney Rule, it needs to be re-worked. IMO, it's a slap in the face. Let's tell it like it is - many times, these GMs already have their guy in mind and they're only interviewing non-white candidates because they have to. I like this idea;

The NFL's Rooney Rule Nee..., But How?

I think the Rooney rule should apply to all areas of the NFL

What the hell has Darrius Guice gotten himself into? Domestic violence charge that ultimately gotten

him dismissed from Washington. Now 2 former LSU students are accusing him of rape. eek

Wow. I hope the rape allegations aren't true. I liked him at LSU but he has been snakebitten by injuries in Washington.

i remember when he was going through the draft combine, he made a big deal out of the fact that NFL GMs asked him if it was true that he was gay and his mother was a prostitute... now this latest stuff... seems like this young man has been a troubled dude for a while

Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier officially retires from NFL

Ryan Shazier's life changed 1,010 days ago when the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker sustained a spinal contusion making a tackle.

Since that day on Dec. 4, 2017, Shazier has battled every step, believing he could one day return to the game. None doubted the desire of the spirited linebacker.

Wednesday, Shazier officially announced his retirement from football.

"Football gave me everything I could ever want and more. It taught me about hard work, dedication, teamwork," he said in a social media message. "It took me to college and the NFL. It made me money. It gave me a life that most people can only dream about. I'm here today to make sure the world knows how much I still love football. How grateful I am for everything football gave me. And I'm here to let the world know that today I am officially retiring from the game I love so much."

After the injury, the Steelers tolled the linebacker's contract for two years, allowing him to remain with the organization on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) and receive medical care. In March, the Steelers placed Shazier on the reserve/retired list.

Wednesday brought about the linebacker's official retirement statement.

"When you play the game of football the way I did, you convince yourself you're Superman, that nothing can stop you," Shazier said. "But then the moment I got hurt, I stopped being Superman, and that was difficult to make sense. But the way I look at it, God put us all here for a purpose. For 20 years, he let me play football. And now it's time for me to do what he wants me to do."
